Dear readers,

I want to send a cool box with tools to the Netherlands, what is the best solution for this? With whom does it go the fastest and also arrive?

The box is 70 cm x 70 cm x 90 cm and weighs +/- 90 kg

Regards,

Aloysius

Postal package is a maximum of 20 kg.
Sea freight at least one cubic meter, plus many additional costs such as port, handling, etc
Courier, fed ex,ups hdl etc will be very expensive too.
    Success won't be easy

No one can guarantee whether it will arrive.
A lot goes through the scanner and something can just disappear.
We received several products from Thailand that were opened (forcibly) and included damage.
A family member had sent a welding machine to the Netherlands and then had to pay a high import rate in the Netherlands, after which the cheap was an expensive purchase.

When sending, a document must be completed with information about the content and the market price.

Make sure the package looks like it was sent from a professional company, with "consignment note", stickers, stamps, etc. that can put some people off.

Provide this consignment note with an “invoice” with an acceptable value, because the NL customs decides whether you have to pay for imports.
An X amount of import is tax free, consult the customs site.

invoice paper stamps sale/date/paid for sale at Tesco.

Cheapest via sea freight (surface) about 6 weeks
Fast via air freight but more expensive.

Maybe 5 postal boxes of 20 kg are cheaper and you have more certainty that everything/a lot will arrive. Last year I sent 5 boxes of about 15 kg by sea mail to NL and they all arrived after 8 to 10 weeks. Simply handed in at the post office in TH and track and trace requested and received.

But mail boxes are not that sturdy, so something will have to be done with foil, thick tape and string. And not all 5 at once, I took a few weeks in between.

The postal rates can be found on the internet. Customs in NL is always an uncertain factor or surprise…..but I had no charge.
