Dear readers,

In January we rented an apartment in Jomtien. We want to use the air conditioner as little as possible and sleep with the (sliding door) open as much as possible.

But the problem is that you are bothered by the mosquitoes and now my question: does anyone know where I can have an insect screen that fits in the sliding door made in Jomtien or nearby?

Best regards,

Ab Stolk

Theprasit road, the last part between where the night market is and the corner with Sukhumvit on the side of the night market, there is a glass shop and aluminum maker, who also makes those mosquito windows or sliding doors

Well, I don't know that right away, but you can easily put something similar together. Buy 4 wooden slats and make a frame of the size of the door space to be covered (approximately 2 cm. overlap). Buy Velcro, insect screen and removable glue flexible). Cut mosquito netting to size with a small overlap (fold over so that a reinforced hem is created along all edges. Staple the mesh to your wooden frame. Then glue pieces of Velcro to your frame and the counter to your post. Assemble and you're done Ab.
    Good luck

    Hello Ab,
    We also had that problem.
Maybe the idea below is something
Because our doors have different sizes, and screen doors had to be specially made (quite pricey)
we mounted a rail in the doorway, cut curtains to size, and glued small pieces of Velcro to the window frame and sewn them to the curtains.
    Regards and success,
    gonny

Try to see if the landlord doesn't want to post them. Many friends who rent something here (in Hua Hin) for half a year have managed to do so for free.

Just take an old-fashioned net curtain with you, fasten it with thumbtacks and your problem will be solved cheaply and quickly. We have been doing this for years and it works perfectly!
