How much time does it take to get from the new terminal at Suvarnabhumi airport to immigration?
Dear readers,
First of all, we wish you a beautiful 2024. In September, a new terminal called 'SAT1' opened at Suvarnabhumi. Has anyone arrived at the new terminal yet? The information I can find is that you are taken to the main terminal with a train shuttle and then it ends a long way.
My question is, I will soon be flying to BKK and if we arrive at the SAT1, how much extra time do I have to allow to get to immigration in connection with the connecting domestic flight? I have booked separate tickets with Bangkok Airways, just to be sure, only 4 hours are allocated for this transfer because EVA Air is delayed several times from AMS.

I often read about delays with EVA air here, but I am certainly always lucky because of my approximately 15 flights, I have always flown with EVA and have never had a greater “delay” of more than half an hour.
I wouldn't call that a real delay, although some flights sometimes departed an hour or more late, but that was always made up by a maximum of 30 minutes.
Another thing is the Thai railways, but that is not what we are talking about here.
I left 2 weeks ago from the new terminal with Turkish Airlines to Istanbul. All in all it took me about 15 to 20 minutes longer to get there. The train ride is only a few minutes, you mainly have to walk the escalators and extra meters.
Time is an experience. If you fall short, it will go faster. I arrived there from Singapore in mid-December. Get out, walk, shuttle...it goes fast. Think in minutes, that's all it takes. My surprise points are more the customs and the baggage claim, although my last trauma was a long time ago. In short: no worries. Greetings Frans
