Home » Reader question » Does anyone have experience with obtaining a motorbike driver's license in Trat?
Dear readers,
Does anyone have experience with obtaining a motorbike driver's license in Trat? How much hassle is it? What exactly is involved? It seems that it is not the same throughout Thailand.
Regards,
Freek

I went last week for my extension. You need:
Copy house book
doctor's statement
Non O residence status (copy)
passport (copy)
photos not necessary.
With this you get a paper at the immigration in Laem Ngop. Also copy again of course. Then you go to the town hall in Trat early in the morning. You can then apply for your driver's license on the 1st floor.
First watch the film or prove that you have seen it on the internet, then a brake test with green and red light (brake when it turns red) a color test in which green red and yellow are indicated from a fan pallet. If you have everything right, you can extend. If you have to request a new one, you will receive a multiple choice questionnaire on the PC (something like in NL) for your theory. Then go outside where you have to drive a bit in the backyard. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Good luck.
Rough.
Hallo,
Go to bujai and everything is arranged in 30 minutes..
Bujai is about 60 km above Korat.
You can also call me on 0933057441.
Greetings Jan
Dear wieberdink,
I assume by bujai you mean the following Land Transport Office:
Nakhon Ratchasima Transportation Office (Bua Yai District Branch)
Image caption ัวใหญ่
19/1 Tesaban 8 Rd, Tambon Bua Yai, Bua Yai District, Nakhon Ratchasima 30120

HC6C+C9 Bua Yai, Bua Yai District, Changwat Nakhon Ratchasima
But don't you think that traveling roughly 500 km, 7½ hours, by car (there is a train station, but with the train you lose much more travel time) from Trat to Bua Yai for obtaining a motorcycle license in ½ hour is rather inefficient is?
Dear Frank,
if you had to indicate with your question whether you already have an international, still valid, MOTOR driving license or not, that would make the answer even more simple.
What would you think, just like I did, when I used to get a Thai driver's license in Chumphon, once in Trat at 'Land and Transport Office' driving licenses, go in beforehand and ask what they want to see or what you have to do. After all, asking is free and costs nothing and you will get the necessary 'locally correct' information.
