Watch Formula 1 in Thailand this season?
Dear readers,
In an earlier discussion there was talk about F1 TV. This costs US$ 26,99 per year but does not entitle you to live races. Only with F1 TV Pro you can watch the races live. This costs US$ 79 per year but is not available in Thailand due to local rights (TRUE).
However, F1TV Pro is available in the Netherlands. I assume that when Ziggo's contract expired, Liberty Media, the owner of F1, kept the rights for F1 TV Pro out of the new contract.
So if you pay with a Dutch credit card and use a VPN you can watch F1 races live here? is that right?
Regards,
Maarten
Editors: Do you have a question for the readers of Thailandblog? Use it contact form..
You can watch F1 TV in Thailand with and without a VPN. Perhaps you have friends in NL who want a subscription, and then you can log in with up to 6 different devices with 1 subscription. I have the app on my Iphone and on my MAC and use the subscription together with my son (€ 65 for 1 season) and then you can stream it to your TV. But as you say, if you have a NL address and a NL credit card, you can also register. Great TV, just no NL comments from Olaf 🙂
Comments from Olav can be made via https://grandprixradio.nl/radio-luisteren
However, there is no guarantee that the image and radio signal will run synchronously. 🙂
https://formula1live.org/ Free, HD, plus use the AdBlocker on Firefox for ad-free racing fun.
I thought you were with Fred Repko. On channel 49 just like before F1 ( just included in the subscription of 695 baht per month. )
The F1Pro app (Android TV) does not work for me in the Netherlands if I use a VPN. At least, not the live covarage (well the content of the regular F1TV, but this concerns specifically the live images). If I switch off the VPN (Surfshark), I can suddenly watch “live”. Apparently the app sees if a VPN is running.
I suspect, but am not sure, that F1Pro works in Thailand with a Dutch subscription. You log in with your data.
If you use a code (just search, I think F1GAME25) you also get a 25% discount. Then it is € 48,99 for 12 months, so 4 euros per month. You can watch everything from FP1 to the race.
I watch Form 1 Free via Hesgoal.com or cyfostreams.com on PC and via Google Chromecast on the TV
I can also receive Sky Germany and Sky England incl. F1 via IPTV. But that wasn't the question.
Incidentally, I doubt whether Hesgoal and those other streams broadcast in HD let alone 4K. Sky (both England and Germany) in any case in HD, so that you also have a good picture on your TV. An F1 race on your laptop or PC is a different experience
Cyfo doesn't broadcast F1 anyway. and Hesgoal drops a lot .
With iptv you can watch all over the world, including fox and ziggosport.
This works fine and can also be done with an android box on the TV.
So if I understand correctly you can just watch F1 in Thailand with TRUE.
Don
I don't understand how so many people have problems in Thailand, to watch F1.
Here in Phuket I pay 1.000 baht for 3 months to Phuket Cable Company Ltd. and I can watch F1 and MotoGP without any problem.
Simple and fine.
I read from many comments that you can just watch F1 at providers (True, Phuket TV, etc.)
How do you know? There hasn't been a race yet.
All info is from last season, and a lot has changed in F1 country.
We'll know more after this weekend.

Yes, I only found out yesterday that you cannot watch the live stream without an F1TV Pro subscription. I had the regular subscription of € 2,99 per month. Installed the Dutch commentary app. Installed me on the couch to watch the workouts. But nothing.
Go take a look and find out that you can't see the live steam only the summaries, but you can also do that for free if you have a connection to a VPN at Ziggo.
What another commenter says that you can close in Thailand is not correct, this option is not there if you do not use a VPN.
TIP
Yet yesterday I was able to watch the training sessions for FREE to great satisfaction.
Set the wise VPN connection to Luxembourg, then you can RTL lu https://www.rtl.lu/tele/live Watch live training and matches.
You turn off the sound and turn on the APP F1 radio and you watch the race together with Dutch commentary. I have linked the App via my mobile to the Google home box, which is located next to the TV.
Class.
I watch http://www.hesgoal.com that's free and live
I have Euro TV in Thailand for 600 baht per month and was able to watch the Qualification via Ziggo sport Racing today, which came live according to the vignette in the right corner of Sky sports.
So with English commentary. I hope I can watch the Race tomorrow as well.
