Dear readers,

I am married to a Thai woman. This woman has a daughter who is 18 years old. She has passed the entrance exam, English and Chinese, at the university in Chiang Rai.

But, I would rather see her study in the Netherlands. And I think it should be high school or high school. She herself says she wants to go into business.

Does anyone know how I should go about this, is she eligible for a scholarship?

I do have an address where she can stay in Amsterdam. I currently live in Thailand for 8 months and in the Netherlands for 4 months.

Thanks in advance,

computing

Read the information on these websites and you know (almost) everything::

    Tomorrow Computing,

To be eligible for a scholarship, the student in question must have a list of very high grades.

Now I'm afraid that the level in Thailand is a lot lower than the Netherlands.
That will also be quite a frustration for your stepdaughter.

To avoid a lot of trouble for her, I would suggest that you just buy some books on trading, or whatever direction she wants to go in, and let her go through those first.
These are also available in English in the Netherlands.
If she does not understand the material, she will first have to brush up on a lower level and yes, without a scholarship.

Why should she (if at all possible) study in the Netherlands? The Netherlands is not exactly the first choice due to the fact that it apparently has a good command of English and Chinese (sufficient?) and also wants to enter the trade. Because of the Chinese, I think she wants to trade in Thailand and therefore better study here (= Chiangrai) instead of the cold frog country.
Unless, of course, she thinks she will live/work in the Netherlands. Whether she (you?) thinks that university in Chiangrai is completely below par. Then I would first find out what the reputation / level of this university is.

Gringo gives the correct answer. I do think it is wise that you realize in advance that your wife's daughter is not Dutch and that the tuition fees are therefore many times higher than the approximately €2.000 that a Dutch student has to pay per year. The exact amount varies per study and per institute, but you should not be surprised if it is around €15.000 and €20,000 per year. In that respect, it can pay to also look at lectures from renowned universities in the US. Generally speaking, those universities are more generous in giving scholarships to students they believe have potential. However, it is quite a job to 'apply' there. They not only look at study results, but also at other talents. To quickly get across the stage what all this entails is a difficult one. It is clear to me that this path is much cheaper for the talented. This even applies to Dutch students. If a reputable university in the US really wants a foreign student, they cover all the costs of studying, living, living there. I know several who have succeeded in this, which I am not saying that it is an easy task to get this done. On the contrary!

Australia is an option, but ask her if she really wants to; not what you think better ; she is after all it is Thai.
There are also plenty of well-regarded universities in Thailand and especially in Bangkok
Let them complete their studies here and then they can always continue abroad

Self a daughter of 10 farang/Thai and studying here is fine, but what is in the girl herself; willpower and the desire to learn? in our case certainly and then she will save herself everywhere !!!

It depends on what you do with your studies, even with little study you can do a lot (my case) or with study and univ.
little to nothing !!! I know that one enough 🙁
