Dear readers,

In November I will go to Thailand again and will travel around with company. In my planning I put 2 nights at Khao Sok National Park. We will arrive by plane from Krung Thep in Surat Thani (presumably early afternoon) and then take a minivan to our reserved resort for two nights. I would like to know what the options are to make a nice day tour without:

  • "overnight stay" on the Cheow Lan Lake;
  • visit to the cave (seen such caves several times and moreover you have to swim in them!);

I would love to take a nice boat trip to admire the rock formations and shores but is the lake big enough for a full day of cruising and are there any stops other than to have something to eat and browse? Can you maybe sail around and do some fishing or canoeing/swimming?

Anyway, I couldn't find enough information on the internet. Usually the excursions with overnight stay(s) in a hut on the lake and the long walks in mud and between the spiders and many biting insects.

Has anyone made a nice quiet day trip and what did it look like and how reserved; what is the cost estimate?

Regards,

Serge (BE)
