Dear readers,
I'm going to Phuket in September to find a job and live there through a tefl training. I would have liked to have contact with Belgians who currently work and live there so that I can be well informed in advance about what is important for a good start.
I am particularly concerned about getting good insurance if I need a dentist or doctor. And it would certainly be nice to have some backing in the beginning.

Have fun in Phuket! For a dentist I can recommend the Happy Tooth practice at 135/15 Patak Road in Chalong, Phuket. Tel no: +6676-281414. There are a lot of expats patient there and the dentist also has a Happy Tooth practice in the Netherlands, so quality is of paramount importance.

What is important for a good start is to leave with the right VISA class. In your case, this is a NON-IMMIGRANT ED Visa, for education purposes. More information about this can be found on the website of the Thai embassy in Brussels.
Working in Thailand is only possible with a NON IMMIGRANT B type VISA and without exception.
To obtain these visas you need official statements from a potential employer + your diplomas.
Medical care is good in Phuket, eg Phuket International Hospital, and several others.
A matter of insurance, you can, for example, take out a Globentrotter insurance with Allianz assistance nederland for 3-6-9 or 12 months. This also applies to Belgians.
