Dear readers,

I would like to rent a car that is in order and good insurance for 2 to 3 weeks in the Sichon area. This is located in Nakhon Sit Thammarat province.

If anyone knows anything or has a good tip I would be grateful.

Regards,

Hein

    Dear Hein,

In Nakhon Si Thammarat, a few weeks ago, I looked for almost a whole day to rent a scooter, nowhere, but no one, who wanted to rent a scooter. All Honda and Yamaha dealers over, been to many repair companies, 2nd hand scooter sellers, no one wanted to rent out.

Finally went to the airport again to rent a car, forget it, all rented, only if you rent a car at least two weeks in advance is one available.

If you look on the website of Rentalcars or Sixt, you will see that no car is available tomorrow.
So my experience is, rent one at Nakhon Si Thammerat airport and reserve it at least two weeks in advance.

In the end it worked out for me, because I told the hotel and an employee of the hotel then rented his scooter to me for 200 Bhat per day. An old scooter with 70.000 km on the counter and a manual gearbox. That manual gearbox has aged 5 years in those 2 days, but that was due to the farrang driver.

Good luck with your search Nico

    Dear Hein,
There are a number of car rental companies located at Nakhon siThammarat airport, including Budget, I think. You can pick it up there and possibly drop it off elsewhere, for example in Surat Thani. Sichon is a fifteen-minute drive from this airport. I have rented one myself and thought it was fine. Better than my experiences with private rentals on site. Is careful.
    Success.
