Reader question: Provider of visa runs in Hua Hin wanted
Dear readers,
We have been in Hua Hin for a month now. In October next we have to make a visa run. There were several agencies that organized visa runs. The desks where we looked are closed.
Does anyone know where a desk is located for a visa run? Can I make a fish run in another way if necessary? We have a visa O for one year.
Thanks in advance for your advices.
Constant
If you had read one of the most important things, namely your accommodation options in Thailand, in the various media and reports about Thailand, you knew that the so-called Visaruns have been banned for more than a month.
However, it is also the case that you get a new stamp in your passport when you leave the country and stay somewhere for a few days. An acquaintance of mine went to Laos last week with his family. He did not have a visa for Thailand. However, because he was there with his whole (Thai) family for three days, he had no problems returning to Thailand and even got a new stamp for a longer period. This also because he could also show that he was on vacation.
But forget about crossing the border for an extension. It may well be possible that you will not be allowed in for the time being.
From August 29 you can get an extension (in Hua Hin at the immigration office). Information about this is here on Thailandblog enough. Just click through a few pages.

They have a Non-immigrant “O” Multiple entry (visa O for one year as they call it). There has never been a problem with that.
Travelers with a Multiple entry, including a Non-immigrant “O”, or 2/3 entries on a Tourist visa, can still complete their visa run. Only people who want to stay in Thailand for a long time with a back-to-back visa exemption, back-to-back tourist visa or a combination of both can expect problems if they cannot prove that they are only here for tourist reasons.
Apparently their problem is finding an office in Hua Hin that still makes visa runs. I can't help with that because I don't know Hua Hin enough. Local expats in Hua Hin should certainly be able to help them with this. I would be surprised if that entire trade has been shut down.
Well, in this case, my apologies for not reading it right. Then there is the possibility to hire a taxi or to take the bus a bit further south to Dan Singkhon, about an hour and a half south of Hua Hin. You can also take a bus to Prachuab Khiri Kahn – the town and take a taxi there. Might be cheaper. There will be no buses to Dan Singkhon from Hua Hin.
You used to be able to do a visa run there and I think you can still do that there with your visa.
The best thing, I think, is to go to Soi 19 in Hua Hin, to Immigration. They will undoubtedly be able to give you more information there.
a visa run has recently become possible to the north, recently saw a poster: leaving by bus at 07.00:14.00 and back in Hua Hin at XNUMX:XNUMX. Unfortunately, the phone number was not listed. Saw the poster hanging at Hin Lek Fai viewpoint. There was also a stand (unfortunately unmanned). Have you looked across from the station? don't know if it is closed. It is a new border post and much closer than Ranong. Otherwise just visit the tourist police or indeed immigration, they will know.
I have been making a visa run (for O year visa) to Ranong every 90 days for years, via an office that has unfortunately moved. But I have the phone number and email address. They say I can always call them. The phone number: 087-169489. Some things have changed, there are now far fewer people going for a visa run.
I also saw that there is a shop under Condonchain on Petchkasemroad, that large, tall light yellow building, which also provides visa runs.
I hope to help you with this. Gr. Bea
As far as I know, Dan Singkhon is not open to Farang. That border post can only be used by Thai and Burmese. Some time ago there was talk of opening the border post to foreigners, but this has not happened yet.
I'm in the same situation. I have to do a visa run next week.
I also don't know a visa run company here in Hua Hin. That's why I go to Bangkok for that. Just a night out, an overnight stay in a budget hotel, and the next day on the minibus to Cambodia. You will arrive back in Bangkok sometime in the late afternoon, and if you wish, you can take the minibus back to Hua Hin.
It is indeed a fact that many “visa run companies” have given up, but if you google it, you will find some companies that organize visa runs on a daily basis. I am now going with “Sawasdee transport service” (first time with this company, so I can't rate)
Another option is to take a bus to Ranong and cross the border there
“To the north”… I have heard that the border post in Kanchanaburi is also closed for the time being “due to tampering”… However, I cannot confirm this, but I myself do not take the risk of going there and standing in front of a closed border post… Via Bangkok seems to me the simplest solution for the time being…
Yours faithfully,
Frenchie
If you want, I can introduce you to a lady at the immigration office in Hua Hin, who can arrange everything for you.
Hi Khan Martin,
That seems like a great solution to me. Can you email me for an appointment? My email address is [email protected]
Thank you also for the info. Thanks everyone for the help. We are happy with this opportunity to get answers to our questions via Thailandblog.nl.

Constant Kanitz
Hi Khan Martin,
