Dear readers,

Where can you buy a 60 plus card for bus or train in Hua Hin and what is the name of such a card? Is this card also valid in Bangkok?

Is it useful to buy a multi-day ticket?

Thank you very much,

Adri

In Bangkok the 60+ card for the BTS is only for Thais, now I have one so the person behind the counter certainly didn't know that. So I am in violation of this. For the MRTis the age 65+ on the website there is nothing about this that this is only for Thais. These cards are available at the counter, for which you need your passport. You must also be able to show this when checking.

    ger,
So the wealthy Thai over 60 is not entitled to that discount card?
Adri is simply trying to exercise his legal rights. I suspect you do too. Is it not for the discount card, or for another legal right.
I do agree with your advice to use the bike as much as possible.

I suspect that my response to Ger's response resulted in the removal (at his request?) of his response.
My response is now somewhat orphaned, but it is still possible to deduce what the purport of his response was.

Adri does not mention that he wants to travel cheaper. What I do conclude from it is that he, like me, would like to know the system so that you don't have to buy 1 ticket every time. It would be very handy if you could just walk through the gates provided you tap it with your credit card or smartphone, whereby the amount to be paid would automatically be deducted. One could even register where you get on and then pay for where you get off and take the distance into account. But since those options are not there, I am also looking for the most convenient way to use public transport. I even want to pay more for it because transport in Thailand is really dirt cheap for a European and I much prefer to use public transport than a taxi that is also often stuck in traffic jams.
I did buy a Rabbit card, but to top it up again I have to go to a 7/11 or an office because top up via credit card only works for a Thai bank account and I don't have one yet.
