Home » Reader call » Call: I am looking for a relationship with a Thai woman in the Netherlands
Dear readers,
My name is Ruud, I recently had a relationship with a Thai woman, but unfortunately I can't continue with her due to lack of money. She still lives in Thailand in Loei. The relationship we briefly had was good and the click was there.
I have spoken to her sister and have come to the conclusion to end this relationship, which is very painful for me and for this lovely lovely woman.
Now I am definitely still looking for a sweet caring Thai woman who lives here in Holland. Poor Dutch or English is not so bad for me and will help her to learn and understand the language in the evening.
The age preference for me is from 37 years. I don't mind a child in the house, I will also let this one grow up with love here in the Netherlands. The woman can be independent. My motto is: my house is also the house for my future partner.
If it works, that's fine by me. A babysitter for the child can be arranged.
I hope my message came across as sporty. If a lovely Thai woman responds to this, I will sincerely email her back with an honest answer.
Sincerely,
Ruud
Spijkenisse
Wish you luck and hope you get response(s) to this call.
Nice way to get in touch with someone and now, but hope for you that many Thai single ladies also read the blog.

Many Philippine au pairs in NL, much wiser to look for someone like that. Learn the language more easily and you have a greater chance that the woman feels comfortable in NL.
Visit Philippine parties in, for example, R'dam or Amsterdam or get in touch with someone who has a Philippine partner and can introduce you.
You can also find them in Catholic churches.
Dear Ruud,
It is a pity that you have to end the relationship because you cannot meet the immigration requirements that the Netherlands imposes on non-EU migrants (sustainable income of 100% minimum wage on a full-time basis: more than 1400 euros gross per month). The government sometimes destroys more than you would like... If you are permanently (partly) unfit for work, there still seem to be options. If you cannot permanently meet the income requirement through no fault of your own, you still have a chance. Then consult an immigration law lawyer, for example. There are also options such as the EU route by living in Belgium, Germany, etc., but then you must be married. In that case, lighter requirements apply, which amounts to “your partner may come provided you are not an unreasonable burden to the state”.
If none of that is an option, you might find this information useful:
- https://www.thailandblog.nl/lezersvraag/contact-thaise-vrouwen-nederland/
– The above 2 links have various tips where to meet Thai in NL (think of restaurants, temples, Thai festivals).
– Dutch dating sites
Personal note: I would never look for someone of a certain origin. Love happens to you, although I admit that I had and have a soft spot for Asian ladies. Maybe you have that too, maybe you will meet a nice Asian lady in the Netherlands, but maybe also a nice woman from elsewhere. Or if you love your ex so much and she loves you, find out if there really are no options for you. On foreignpartner.nl you may be able to find advice (or otherwise ask) whether and, if so, how you can still be together with your girlfriend if you cannot meet the income requirement.
Success!
Dear Ruud,
Money problem, yes almost all of us have that. You don't like that woman and she also likes you?
Money can't be a reason to send the "real" away. Fight for it, man.
