With the arrival of the Omikron variant, countries around us have started to act faster than the Netherlands. The UK gives people over 18 a booster if your last vaccination is more than 3 months old. You can get it in Germany when you are over 30, even without a German residential address.

And Thailand today decided to give people a booster under the same conditions as the UK: https://www.thaipbsworld.com/thailand-to-speed-up-vaccine-booster-shots/

Only NL is lagging behind. It remains stuck on a slow booster strategy: only by appointment and age-related [this year only for 60-plus] and on the condition that the last vaccination is older than 6 months.

I received my vaccinations in Thailand, the last one in mid-September, so 3 months old. Since my Thai vaccinations are not included in the RIVM database, I can get a 3rd vaccination on spec, so for the GGD my 1st vaccination, even in the situation that I have a converted NL QR code. Germany is also an option.

Since I am traveling to Thailand next month, I will still get that 3rd shot in Thailand. The reason for this is administrative - so as not to confuse the QR code registration in the Corona check app. Because the NL system is still schizophrenic – if you have been vaccinated abroad, it will not be included in the RIVM database.

    Eddie,
I thought you could have your foreign vaccinations registered in several places in the Netherlands.

    https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/coronavirus-covid-19/coronabewijs/vaccinatiebewijs/gevaccineerd-in-het-buitenland

After the corona speech on TV yesterday, I also thought that the requirement of 6 months would be converted after 3 months.
Since the effect of the vaccine only decreases to a limited extent after 6 months, this has been decided.

The fact that you only received the last vaccination in Thailand in mid-September is not due to the Netherlands.
In the Netherlands you could have already received it in May / June.

I also did this at the GGD. However, the foreign vaccinations are not kept in the RIVM database. It's a separate system. The QR code is the same. This is what I have experienced after calling various agencies that will deal with this.

        Eddie,
What is the advantage for you that your vaccination is included in the RIVM database?
Dutch people who simply live in the Netherlands also have the choice of whether or not to be included in the RIVM database system.

Permission to register your vaccination data with RIVM is voluntary. You can also get a corona vaccination if you do not register your details. RIVM uses the data to determine, for example, how many people in the Netherlands have been vaccinated and to measure the effectiveness of the vaccinations.

Last night it was announced that in NL you can now also get a 'booster' from 3 months after the last injection.

Yes and I have also noticed that unfortunately a telephone appointment is not possible due to crowds.
Not all vaccination centers can be reached online either, and those that can be reached are apparently full until the beginning of January.

I made an appointment online this morning for a booster shot for me and my wife without any problems

        • khun moo says up

yesterday morning with the online registration I received the message that I had to wait 6 months and it was not my turn yet.
For me the interval was 6 months minus 1 week.
This morning even the location was no longer visible and the first possibility was January 1 in another city at a distance of 35 km.
We live in a city with almost 100.000 inhabitants.
Apparently the registration changed quickly when it became known that only 3 months after the last injection had to wait.
          i am almost 70.

Correct. Immediately after the broadcast, there was a flood of requests. As a result, GGDs say: don't call me and advise booking online. But even there you have little chance of a smooth vaccination because an appointment was booked quickly. So everyone has to wait his/her turn. Maybe you can go earlier in Thailand?

I opened the Thaipbsworld link. Nice to read that I can now get my booster shot here in Thailand, but unfortunately I don't read anywhere where I have to go for that. In every hospital? In every city? In clinics? Are the Pfizer ed free? Who has specific information?

    • Ger Korat says up

Start by telling us where you live in Thailand and maybe someone can provide some information. Usually in the larger state hospitals or in a location designated by them, and then also free of charge. And where did you receive the 2 basic vaccinations, you will also be able to get your booster there.

    • Eddy says up

You need to be where you got your first 2 injections.

If your second shot was more than 3 months ago, you can just walk in, no appointment required. This is only possible on certain days and hours. The health manager of the place where you live can tell you that perfectly.

I had my booster shot yesterday in a small district of Kalasin and could even choose between Pfizer and Moderna, all for free.

The booster vaccination has been started, because it has increasingly become apparent that the 1st and 2nd vaccination loses its effect faster than previously thought.
The booster was in the first place not intended for the new Omikron variant, as the above article suggests, but for the already known variants such as the Delta variant.
An entirely new vaccine is being developed for the Omikron variant, which will probably not be launched on the market until the spring of April or May.
At most, the booster is expected that people who have already been boosted will probably have slightly less severe consequences of an infection with the Omikron variant.
As far as I know from Germany, you can only get a booster if the 2nd injection is at least 6 months ago.
The only exception is made by the Bavarian government under Minister Söder, who already give their boostern advice after 5 months.
I live in Bavaria, just had my booster, but my wife who had her last vaccination 4 months ago was refused and has to wait until January 2022,

Omikron is not dangerous, but contagious. It causes no more than a mild cold.
At least that is the case in South Africa. In the UK, infections are rising, but not the number of sick.
It is a type of variant that occurs with every respiratory virus and normally these types of variants are the end of the virus as a more or less dangerous pathogen. Vaccinating against it is nothing but criminal and the intention can only be to manipulate people even more and cause more dangerous mutations
When boosters are given every year, anything can be put into these so-called “vaccines”.
Taking a booster is therefore entirely at your own risk. The “vaccines” hardly seem to work, but that was not the intention.

A car doesn't run on water, but if you throw more water into it, it will run. Not then? If we repeat this often enough, people will believe it.
That's how it works with the covid "vaccinations".
I say no more about it. If it's not clear by now, you're out of luck.
There will be no point in telling me in detail what the official propaganda is. I won't respond to that. Many of you have been fooled. No problem. I don't blame anyone for that. Think about your health.

    Courage,

    Dr. Maarten

If the government in Thailand decides that the booster shot will be part of the general vaccination, I suspect those who registered at the time via the web page, the link of which was here on Thailandblog (or did I use it via the old Thaivisa?) and were vaccinated in this way, then perhaps be called up again…?
