Dear editors,
Through political party 50Plus/Tweede Kamer, I received the site of the Stichting Belangenbeharting NL Pensioners Abroad = vbngb.eu 50Plus consults this Stichting vwb on matters that are important to our group.
I have been lobbying 50Plus for a number of years on various issues where we are not getting any response. But also where we are excluded by the NL government, receive incompetent answers or no follow-up responses.

Dutch pensioners with an address in one of the EU-EEA countries or Switzerland can become a member of the VBNGB.
I miss Thailand
…….and many other countries where Dutch pensioners live!
This shows that pensioners outside the EU are not only often, very often, abandoned by the government, but that a foundation that claims to represent the interests of pensioners abroad is also limited to EU citizens, just like the government .
Actually think that a machine task offers itself for this foundation.
Restore……….
A clean job.
The objectives of this association are expressly limited to promoting the interests of Dutch pensioners who live in another EU country, Switzerland or an EEA country (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein).
Perhaps the sender could have read this himself …………..
Indeed: according to Article 1 under Purpose, this concerns a. promoting the interests of those who live outside the Netherlands in countries that belong to the European Union or to the European Economic Area, or in Switzerland and are entitled to to a pension (benefit) under Dutch social security legislation or another pension scheme administered from the Netherlands. But under 3 it also states: 3. “The association serves the general interest of retired Dutch people abroad”. So perhaps this association also offers opportunities for retired Dutch people who stay outside Europe for a long time. I will ask this question on the mentioned website and if there is an answer. I will mention it here.
As already noted, the Foundation is rather limited in terms of target group and, with all due respect, it appears to be still emphatically in the construction phase.
It is great that 50 Plus consults this association for matters that are important to pensioners, and perhaps it is recommended that an organization such as Thailandblog.nl registers with this party to also function as a sounding board / think tank / source of information within this framework.
It is not a Foundation, but an Association…
That's absolutely correct, Henny, and I am also working on various matters, including child benefit for Dutch children whose father lives here in Thailand and has been deregistered. Turks and Moroccans who return do receive child benefit, many of whom have never contributed to the labor process. I have paid millions in taxes and therefore feel so much discriminated against, and undoubtedly many others with me here in Thailand who have been deregistered and live here. So the government is unfairly applying double standards here. Complaints to the government and the SVB are hardly answered.
These are treaty countries and advocates (Dutch associations) in Thailand should also make this known to the embassy in Bangkok to take steps to obtain the same rights for Dutch people living in Thailand. Please also bring your health insurance with you.
The Dutch Embassy in Thailand does not play any role in this respect, so it makes no sense. You have to be with 'politics'.
Of course it is politics that decides, but if a large number of people who live or want to live in Thailand make it known, then perhaps the law can be amended and, in my view, become fairer for all Dutch people.
Speaking of advocacy, the political party mentioned above is 50+, I saw in their political program 2017 that all Dutch people living abroad should be eligible to take out health insurance on the same terms as Dutch people in the Netherlands. Hopefully also for Thailand.
Doesn't this association look at countries with which treaties have been concluded?
Health insurance is also mentioned in the comments.
