Reader Submission: Container investment scam in Thailand
Dear readers,
Do not invest in containers. There seems to be a company in Laem Chabang that sells containers and rents them out to transport companies.
You can invest in this and buy a container for 120.000 baht. They then promise that it will be rented out and that you will receive 12.000 baht per month. You think you're in the right place with a contract. They promise that the contract will last up to 4 years.
You get your money for the first 2 months, but nothing after that.
If I'm wrong, I'll read it in a comment.
With kind regards,
Eduard
A variation on construction scams……
Thais will stop at nothing with their corrupting police and farangs at that???
If the contract states that it lasts MAXIMUM 4 years and it ends after two months, they are not lying.. You can of course collect your container after those two months.
Then he is just in Dar es Salaam….
After 10 months you would have already received the money in rent, so to speak. That seems like a bit of a lot of profit to me, too much to be true. Because after four years you would have received 576000 baht in rent 🙂
If it's too good to be true, it must be too good to be true
Indeed, a return of 120% per year is something to dream about.
People who just don't invest in it because they happen to have been warned, can no longer be saved. They kick in everywhere.
I notice that it says: “There seems to be a company in Laem Chabang”
Is this real or is this hearsay?
If it is true, then the investor is certainly not smart, because these kinds of returns only exist in the minds of the "smart" sellers.
When it is "hearsay", it is probably also fishermen's Latin.
things that make a fabulous profit…. usually there is a smell to it… usually it even stinks. It's just gambling on the greed of certain people. Anyone who allows themselves to be caught by this today is not very smart.
lung addie
When I read the message, I immediately thought of a “scam”. Who is going to invest in containers now?
But, if you do a quick search on the Internet, this form of investment is fairly “established” It of course depends on who you work with for this investment (how appropriate this expression!)
I came across a website first http://pacifictycoon.com , which looked quite reliable. In fact, on other websites this company is even recommended, showing that it is not a "scam" company. .
Now I am not interested and therefore did not look any further, but to say in advance that investing in containers will not do you any good is not exactly correct.
“In fact, on other websites this company is even recommended, demonstrating that it is not a “scam” company. . ”
An example: review sites. Some of them (between 1 and all) hire people to post good reviews about anything and everything on the internet. And then a number of those sites are owned by the same owner, just like a number of airline ticket sites are also owned by the same person.
BV constructions, mother and daughter companies…etc, etc occur in all kinds of areas. There are 85 soap powder brands and about 3 manufacturers worldwide. or something.
Same thing happens with ball, ball. To show that it is fair game, another accomplice is allowed to win as a pretend tourist, after which the real tourist is tricked.
so that other websites recommend a company is no reason to trust it.
