The new year has started again and for many that can be a reason to implement good resolutions. Stop smoking, cut down on alcohol, visit family more, exercise more, be nicer to others, respect others a little more, less criticize others, make less pressure, or whatever, because there is something for everyone.

My New Year's resolutions are not so based on certain times in a year, but rather the result of causes and wear and tear that sometimes make you have to leave or change things. De Mensch is weak and I am the first to admit it when I feel I am making things unnecessarily difficult for myself.

On January 1, a friend of mine asked me if I had any good intentions or plans for this year. Good plans always enough, but no intentions………until I saw the broadcast of Daily Cost by Jeroen Meus on TV in the evening.
Boiling in the snowy mountains, he was busy preparing a cheese fondue and my mouth immediately watered. Not only with me but also with my wife, since we once enjoyed it in Bangkok at Chesa on Sukhumvit 20.

It was also THE moment when a joint intention saw the light. This year at least 1-2 per month on a journey of discovery to the world cuisines based in Bangkok.

A simple search on Google showed that there are 196 countries recognized by the United Nations and of this number, 79 have an embassy in Bangkok. Now it will not apply to every country that nationals start a restaurant in Bangkok immediately, but in any case it seems to us that it can become a nice challenge.

All world cuisines are eligible provided they meet the budget and then my gut feeling tells me what the budget is on a given day, but I estimate a maximum of 1.000 baht per person. In addition, it does not necessarily have to be a full dinner, extensive lunch or luxury business, so we let it come to us.

Afghanistan is already a thing, so if anyone knows an authentic Afghan tent, I would like to hear about it. In Nonthaburi there is a shop, but choosing from just one is not an option for me yet.

The same goes for an affordable Argentinian restaurant. Quality costs money, but a piece of meat of at least 2.000 baht is not acceptable to me. At that moment, a piece of homemade tender stew meat is just as sweet to me as a tender steak.

For the Arab kitchen I expect to be able to cross things off the list around Sukhumvit 3 and I could go on and on.

If there are any tips and suggestions, I would be happy to receive them and for the enthusiast I will occasionally report on the progress of this project.

And now my question to the readers. What are your good intentions?

A new nice restaurant is located in Sukhumvit soi 8, the restaurant is called Argo and they serve Georgian food. Really delicious food for around 800 baht.
