May I introduce myself, my name is Remco, I left the Netherlands in 2004 with the idea of never returning. In 2009 I bought my own place in Thailand and work worldwide for an International Drilling Contractors Company based in Houston.

In September 2019 I had surgery on my Aorta in Thailand and then Corona started, so I haven't traveled or worked since. The times of work are coming again in Saudi Arabia, but to be admitted you need a full vaccination from Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca or Jansen. Other vaccinations are not accepted there.

As you know, only the AstraZeneca would be a possibility in Thailand, but then there is still 3 months between the 2 injections, which took me too long. On the advice of Mathieu (yes, yes) I asked my sister in the Netherlands to get a Jansen jab in the Netherlands. Once on the phone with the GGD, an appointment was immediately made.

In July I went to the Netherlands and that went as usual, but getting back to Thailand requires a lot of paperwork and a lot to arrange. So one of those things is booking an ASQ (Alternative State Quarantine) hotel. Here I came across 3z Pool Villa and Hotel near Pattaya. This is a resort located in Ban Huai Yai. Here you stay in a "mini" villa with outdoor space including your own swimming pool. It also has a spacious bathroom with Jacuzzi. All Fantastic!

The living space consists of a bed (various choices) sitting area with TV, small fridge, kettle including coffee and tea, microwave and safe. Since the room is not cleaned during your quarantine stay, it is provided with extra bed linen and towels, towels for both indoor and outdoor use. I myself asked for a broom (the well-known Thai "witches" broom) and it was brought immediately. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. After 1 week my water was gone and that is also immediately refilled. On arrival there are about 20 bottles ready for you. The pool is cleaned every 4-5 days. When that is planned you will be called and you will have to stay inside with the doors closed for everyone's safety during the work.

There is a table at your "front door" where the food is put on, on arrival there is a knock and if it rains they keep knocking until you respond so that you can grab it immediately without getting wet. Sometimes they even dare to bring it all the way to your sliding doors! If you have certain preferences in terms of food, you can indicate this in advance, so for me that was “mai pet”. For the rest, the food is quite varied, Western and Thai and maybe not always what you would like, but certainly not bad! Every day also a treat of pastries and / or fruit. On Sunday it's cocktail day, alcohol-free of course. If you feel like something different, there is also a menu in the room for room service, of course you have to pay extra for this. Those menu choices are mainly farang, such as pizza, burgers, spaghetti, salad etc.

You will receive the Covid-19 tests on the first day after arrival, the 5th day and the 10th day. The nurse is permanently present, so if you have any complaints or questions, you can always report them. The medical part is handled here by Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. You will also receive a stress test once, which means answering a number of questions on a form that will be sent to you. In a place like this, that is a bit of an unnecessary luxury in my opinion, but that can be personal.

According to official ASQ rules, no outside deliveries are allowed, but the friendly staff have no problem stopping by 7-Eleven upon request and bringing you something. Our good friend Fred also left some delicious snacks for me during his tour, only the beer was cancelled. Thanks again! Of course you can also bring your own supplies in advance. For example, I have Old cheese, Stegeman cervelat, Unox sausage and Eel in my fridge.

Having a bit of a schedule to yourself is also highly recommended to spend the time as best as possible without any form of stress, the swimming pool and jacuzzi certainly help with that. All in all, I can highly recommend this place. It may cost a little more, but the outdoor accommodation and swimming pool are definitely worth it. I had a wonderful 2 weeks and recommend it to everyone. And then the costs, cheap or expensive, you can decide for yourself, 58.000 baht all-in. Take a look for yourself www.3zpoolvillas.com/.

For those who are going on a trip and will use this I wish a safe journey and a good stay here.

PS I also have to give 3z Pool villa and Hotel a big compliment on the paper straws they provide instead of plastic ones, chapeau!!

    Hallo,

If you are still officially living in the Netherlands, you can get a vaccination. Otherwise, you are dependent on the country where you officially live and are registered. We know this because family of ours has Dutch nationality but no longer lives here and got the vaccination where they live.
Would go for pzfizer or moderna highest protection success though.

    • Cornelis says up

If you read carefully, you will see that Remco has indeed received a vaccination in the Netherlands, and is therefore not dependent on Thailand.

    • Rob V says up

Almost everyone who is in the Netherlands can get an injection. Dutch people who officially live in the Netherlands, Dutch people who live abroad, everyone with a BSN, including people without a BSN (subject to conditions). Even a Thai who has been here for a few months can get a shot.

((Those Thai who are on vacation for a few months can get more information in Thai about getting an injection in the Netherlands at the Thai embassy in The Hague))

      See:
      https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/coronavirus-vaccinatie/vraag-en-antwoord/tijdelijk-in-nederland-coronavaccinatie-in-nederland

      Quote:
" Vaccination for people temporarily in the Netherlands with a passport and citizen service number (BSN)
Dutch people living abroad can be vaccinated after arriving in the Netherlands. With your BSN you can make an appointment for vaccination in the Netherlands by telephone from abroad. This can be done via the telephone number (...) This is the National Vaccination Appointment Number of the GGD.

      (...)

Vaccination for people in the Netherlands for more than 1 month without a Dutch passport or without a BSN
Register in the Netherlands so that you have a BSN number and can receive a vaccination certificate. Is that not possible and are you in the Netherlands for more than 1 month? And are you 18 or older? Then you can make an appointment for vaccination in the Netherlands by telephone. Call the National Vaccination Appointment Number of the GGD via ….

      Register to get a BSN
Do you not have a citizen service number (BSN) and are you staying in the Netherlands for less than 4 months? Then you can register in the Registration of Non-residents (RNI). Here you can then fill in a consent form, with which the government can reach you via an e-mail address to inform you about corona and the possibilities to make an appointment for a vaccination. “

      • PeterV says up

When you register in the RNI you will receive a BSN.
But, a BSN is not necessary, you don't even have to arrange it through the Thai embassy.
We were able to easily schedule the appointments by telephone (0800 7070).
We only needed name, date of birth, gender and a telephone number for confirmation.

        • john koh chang says up

note is the following. You can only call an 0800 number from the Netherlands. So if you want to do that, it's best to ask someone in the Netherlands to do it.

        • TheoB says up

          That's right PeterV,

But you do need a BSN to get proof of that vaccination.

          • Hans says up

That's not right... you get the same printout as someone with a BSN. The yellow vaccination booklet is also simply filled in. The only difference is that you cannot use the app without digitD.

    • doll says up

      Hi Christina,
Why do you write things about vaccination that are not true, ie about being deregistered in NL and then cannot get a vaccination in NL when staying in NL?

      • Christina says up

Don't tell nonsense my family has Dutch nationality but couldn't get the vaccination in the Netherlands. In the country where they officially live. I spent days on the phone and email.

        • Peter says up

Christina, I have been away from ('non-resident') NL for OVER FORTY YEARS and until last month had NO BSN and NO DigiD. Within three days of arrival I had: BSN, DigiD and my Janssen vaccination. So your story is wrong. You can easily plan online in advance.

        • Cornelis says up

No nonsense is being told: it is nothing less than a fact that even as a Dutch person not established / registered in the Netherlands you can still get your vaccination(s).

    • Guus says up

Christina, you are spouting nonsense that misleads people. An anti-covid 19 vaccination in the Netherlands does not depend on whether or not you are registered as a resident.

    • Laksi says up

      Dear Kristina,

      Your whole story is wrong
I flew to the Netherlands on April 26th and received my first Pzfizer on May 6th and received my second Pzfizer on June 23rd.

  2. RichardJ says up

It was already announced on April 25 that every Dutch person anywhere in the world can receive a vaccination in the Netherlands.

thank you Remco for your informative submission.

  4. Remco says up

    Christine,
I'm not talking nonsense here. Anyone with a BSN (ie NL Passport) can simply get an injection in NL, regardless of where you live and regardless of your age.
You can indeed also get an injection in the country where you live, but you are certainly not dependent on that.
I didn't need a DigiD either, just a BSN is enough.

  5. Eddy says up

    Hello @Remco,

    Thank you for your report.
I want to go back soon. I dread the paperwork for the trip to Thailand.

If you were to do it again now, you have the choice between the ASQ in Pattaya or a SHA+ hotel in Phuket.
What would you take and why?

    Eddy

    • Remco says up

I would go for the same again, I enjoyed it just fine and simply because it is close to home.

  6. Hans says up

Anyone who reports to the GGD with a passport can get an injection in the Netherlands at the moment. No social security number needed anymore.
My Thai girlfriend has been stung twice here on her passport with a tourist visa with Pfizer.
Homeless people are also just stung.

  7. Do says up

Super for that price, you would be there for fun 14 days.
I was in Bangkok at the beginning of December with a tiny balcony and a sober
living room and bedroom for Bath 60.000

  8. Tjitske says up

    That doesn't sound bad Remco.
    Thanks for your story.
I looked at the website but couldn't find any prices there.
Do you know if the amount you mention is for the villa?
    So also for 2 people?
I look forward to your response.
Thanks in advance and best regards
    Tjitske

I want to go back soon and I also dread the paperwork for the trip to Thailand.
will definitely check out the resort.

arrived in AMS from BKK last month.
    step 1.
I did not have a BSN or DigiD. I had made an appointment online from Thailand in advance for the BSN application. piece of cake. 20 minutes at the local counter with your passport, and it's done. (in my case at an office in Amsterdam-Zuidoost)
    step 2.
then made an appointment for vaccination: the one-off Janssen shot. also all prepared online. the day after receiving my BSN it was my turn. lose two hours of your day, because it is a slow procession that shuffles towards the nurses. (in my case on the Johan Cruyff square near the Arena)
    step 3.
then applied for DigiD because, if you want to travel within Europe, you have to put your proof of vaccination via Qcode on the DigiD app. (in my case at the counter at Schiphol)

48 hours after arrival was 'washed and shaved'. all services free, as I recall.
    i hope this helps.
