Recently C asked a question to our highly valued Thailandblog general practitioner Dr. Maarten regarding being able to treat a painful crooked back in Thailand for which he now and then travels all the way to Belgium. I have had similar severe back problems, just like C, partly due to a car accident, but, knock on the door, I haven't been bothered by it for years. Have some information for C and possibly others.

At the time, I was now and then treated by a Manual Therapist in the Netherlands, who helped the case up again in a treatment of ½ hour, came in crooked and crooked and walked straight out the door. The limitation was that such a treatment should not be performed too often. Consequently, adjusting, taking care of back muscles, general condition, moving well, not overloading, slowly building up muscle strength if necessary, etc., there is much more advice to be found on the internet.

There can be several causes of back pain, it is wise to have an investigation carried out, perhaps the source can be determined. Which examination should take place can be decided by an orthopedist, but another possibility is to have an examination carried out by a chiropractor who is specified in, among other things, back problems, can also treat these effectively and also advise to have an examination done prior to treatment. . You can also ask this chiropractor or a physiotherapist/physiotherapist to do the treatment as your physiotherapist, your physiotherapist, does in Belgium, as Dr. Maarten indicated in his advice, his other advice should also be taken seriously.

Can't find a physiotherapist in your area? There is a chiropractor in Pattaya, a friend of mine has good experiences with it. The website is: http://www.pattayachirocenter.com/

Even though Pattaya is about 600 km from Mahasarakham, it is always better than going all the way to Belgium for a treatment. Perhaps there is also a chiropractor closer to you?

In Chiang Mai there is a Lana Hospital that has a Back Pain Center that specializes in this type of back problem, I know that they do not advise surgery there, but also help patients with only medicines or detailed individual exercise advice. The site is: www.lanna-hospital.com/lannahospital

Hope C and possibly others can do something with this.

I also sometimes walk with a vertebra 'out of balance' and then you don't know where to look with misery ... ..

The maximum that the local physio can do is the pull bench. Thanks for the web link. Pattaya can be done directly from Nongkhai by bus or fly from Udon Thani to Sattahip.

@Erik, I know what it is, just go into it.
Such a twisted vertebra, it can happen that you have worked all day in the garden and then you pick up a leaf and that's where things go wrong.
Whether that is a vertebra out of plumb or a facet joint, that can differ, but you really don't know where to look for misery. As a result, your back muscles try to absorb that by contracting and then you also have the low back pain.
As said, my manual therapist could solve that, he then stretched and stretched the back and leg muscles, made everything flexible, determined where force had to be applied, then I had to turn on my side and then it came, a strong force with one hand on the back and yes, also pats, problem completely solved. The posture at the time of treatment was similar to what I see in the photo above.
According to a neurologist who treated him at the time, completely impossible, but successfully undergone several times.
In Thailand 1 x a lot of low back pain, high muscle tension, not the same as I describe above, on to a GP clinic, could take painkillers or get an injection in the buttock, despite the fact that I am not a big fan of injections, I did it anyway and actually in for a short time the cramping in the back was gone, could move smoothly again and pain remained away.
I gained the knowledge of the links by preparing myself for if something would ever go wrong again, luckily, knock on the door!!!, but so far this has not happened in 6 years of Thailand, despite being very active in the garden, etc.
Hope it's never necessary for you, live close to Sattahip, let me know on the blog, I'll pick you up and make sure you get to Pattaya.
    Greeting.

Spondylolisthesis, when a vertebra shifts slightly relative to its neighbor. Minimal movement can cause it. Or this: my office chair was 41 cm high and broke. So put a dining chair of 48 cm high. yay! Pain in the L4 and that radiates. Just sat for ONE day. Now I have put a chair 45 cm high and blocks under the desk. The residual pain will wear off.

Formerly in NL, my physio. “Yes, it is crooked again” I hear him say and then I have to sit, he behind me, body is turned (you have nothing to say for a while), body is turned back and he holds the vertebra. Do it three times, then the tensile bench, heat and home hot gel on it. Finished three days later until I start lugging another cupboard…..

I am happy to accept your offer and will ask the blog to send you a memo with my email by then. Thank you very much.

message for C, in Ubon which is not far from you there is a super Chiropractor Dr Den 085-3067123, he comes to Udonthani monthly and is certainly of the same level as a chiropractor in Belgium.

Did an intensive search tonight and found an association of chiropractors in Thailand. And one is located in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Samui to please me in top Isan (?). Get it, people are in places where there are a lot of people.

I also know that there is a single Western physio in Bangkok, but find him / her. Bangkok remains the spider in the web in this great country and if you live far away then you are out of luck.

I'm going to think about it but wait and see what hurts.

@Erik, the gyropractor in Pattaya I gave the link to is an American.
To shorten the lines a bit if you need help, you can send me an email if you want to: [email protected] , that email address is an extra address that I don't normally use, if you send an email today or tomorrow I will check it and confirm receipt, then you have the shortest line. It is understandable to wait and see how it develops, if you are bothered and want to go to Pattaya, take a plane to Sattahip, then you do not have to spend hours in a bus. Make an appointment in advance in Pattaya, the man is busy.

NicoB, this is a very helpful article, thank you. I have suffered from back pain for years and it is now so bad that it even bothers me with walking and getting up. I live in Sattahip and will definitely visit that chiropractor in Pattaya. Thanks for the link.

Retired, but may still provide occasional treatment if someone is in need.

Dear NicoB, thanks in advance for the response, I just came home from the airport of khon kaen I went to get tickets for Bangkok because I have an appointment with Master Adul Spinal Adjustment in Ratchaburi, he will treat me this Saturday on the and I hope the European way it works from 6 am to 12 noon. If this does not help then I have other options thanks to you all I am sorry about that Dr Den if you are in pain and I think many who are in pain know what I'm talking about now that you can't wait a month for him to be in Udonthani I think that's a pity, I'll also let you know how it went on Saturday, maybe that can help others too. Kind regards Chris.

Dr Den receives every day in Ubon Ratchathan, which is still closer than Bangkok or Pattaya

Well Chris I know that doctor from experience and I tell you he is very good and nice too, you have to count on having to go to the waiting room because the man is very busy I usually go during the week because in the weekend it is overcrowded and don't pay 209 baht, but you also have something for that and I have no or few problems anymore, so a must for everyone.
