Went to the Belgian embassy yesterday to apply for AGHB, necessary to get married in Thailand.

I had the following documents with me (for the people who have doubts like me):

  • Passport of both.
  • ID card for both of us.
  • Copy of Passport and ID of both.
  • The completed form "Application AGHB" and the completed form "AFFIDAVIT" can be downloaded from the website of the Belgian embassy.

After going through these documents, both are interviewed in turn. Then we had to wait about 15 minutes and the counter clerk came to tell us that the ambassador had given his permission.

Now they are going to call us that we can collect the AHGB certificate, we also received a list of addresses of translation agencies with which the embassy cooperates. So, nothing had to be legalized for the embassy. It did translate AGHB and the Affidavit!

The cost at the embassy was 1560 THB, cash or card payment.
