Khao Lak

Another episode of a series of stories, telling how Thailand enthusiasts have experienced something special, funny, curious, moving, strange or ordinary in Thailand.

Today a nice story from Ellis Moerings, which we have taken over with her permission and from the administrator of the Facebook page Thailand Community.

If you also want to share your experience with us and the blog readers, please send your message, possibly with a photo you took yourself, to the editors via the contact form..

Reunion in Kao Lak

In 2008 we went from Phuket to Kao Lak by bus on January 1st. We wanted to discuss a dive trip there and went from dive club to dive club, but everyone was full. Finally someone directed us to a dive club (now known as #IQ-Divekhaolak). Inside we asked a blond man in English if they had room the other day. We received an answer in English with a Dutch accent that they did have room.

My husband suddenly said hey I know that voice, are you Bram? They looked at each other and recognized each other after 30 years!!!!! They had been friends in high school and had never seen each other since. It was an emotional reunion with a fun long night at the #happysnapperkhaolak

He was married to a Thai and had lived there for years. He experienced the tsunami up close and we have had many emotional conversations about it. Coincidence doesn't exist they say...
