You experience everything in Thailand (26)
Another installment in our series from a blog reader who experienced something in Thailand that he will not easily forget.
Today a blog reader's story Lex Granada about a chilling discovery in his home.
A snake family
My house is in a wonderfully quiet neighborhood in a dead end street. In the sitting room there is such a comfortable sofa bed, most often used as a sofa, but sometimes.
So every little noise is noticed, but what I heard was so soft that I didn't really pay attention to it. After a few days, hey, there it was again. Still curious by nature, I pushed the sofa off the wall, put my hands under it and started looking for I-don't-know-what. Even the pillows had to be moved, but the mystery remained unsolved.
Now I hear that soft rustle a few times a month, but it's so quiet and brief that I (literally) resigned myself to the idea that maybe an insect was sharing the daybed with me.
A week ago, the cleaning lady suddenly screams and I come to the rescue: a super cute little snake shuffles over the tiles in beautiful curves. So small that it can easily be guided outside.
A few days ago I use my sofa bed for the first part of its name and hear the now very familiar sounds again. Without really expecting an answer, I pat the pillows a bit, because it continues to intrigue.
This morning, with my sleepy head, the first thing I see is a worm sticking out from under the couch and I grab a tissue to guide it out. The worm turns out to be a bit bigger than expected and an adult snake shuffles into the folding mechanism of the sofa bed.
And he, or she, was big: probably the father or mother (what about snakes?) of the baby we brought out a week ago. With the help of the neighbours, this beast was also transformed into a "garden hose".
Strange idea that I have shared my sofa bed with a "sneaky family" for weeks, but I am again the only user, nowadays without any noise.
Beautifully and nicely written.
This way, even in times of Corona, you still experience everything, Lex!
