Home » Living in Thailand » Extra long weekend in Thailand
Friday 1 May is a national holiday in many countries and Thailand also starts a long weekend off.
Tuesday, May 5, is also a Thailand national holiday, which is celebrated as 'Coronation Day'. The government of this country, in all its goodness, has already decided to give Monday 4 May a day off.
This means that a super long weekend will start on Friday 1 May, which will last until Tuesday 5 May. An ideal time for many to get out and about, because the weather forecast for the coming days also looks sunny.
So take this into account with all your official actions to be performed at banks, government institutions, etc. The Dutch embassy in Bangkok will also be closed to the public on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 May 2015.
Thanks editors,
We were already calculating how and until when all of Bangkok was here, but we now know.
So that will be looting Foodland tomorrow and then really no longer driving in the direction of second road, or anywhere else.
Acquaintances will return on May 6 and they have thought it out fantastically.
A little hustle and bustle is ok, but this is just a tsunami of people.
Fortunately, for example, we have a delicious and good Italian restaurant here with delicious fish, among other things.
Cocktails are also not to be missed.
So if we feel out-of-home urges coming, we have, 250 meters as the crow flies, the redemption.
Have a great time everyone.
LOUISE
Did you send that photo to the editors, Louise?
If so, which of those four are you?
Haha gringo,
No dude.
These figures, that is about 40-45 years ago with me.
Then the leftmost one is a bit similar, but with a few extra kilos.
And yes, just done Tesco.
All thai families together, all 8 generations and pleasant discussions among themselves in the middle of a path with the carts towards all 4 corners of the world.
Would have loved to give 2 young Thai boys a well-aimed slap, but yes, that is not allowed, is it?
Then rush home.
But we can move forward.
Greetings,
LOUISE
The common man doesn't have a long weekend at all, that's just the government agencies and things like that.
The Thai worker just works his 12 or 13 hour day, think about that when you're having a good time in a restaurant and complaining that the bank is closed. My son worked in a restaurant and told his boss to do it himself, with full support from me. Most restaurants still only pay Baht 200 per day, not 300 for a 12 or 13 hour working day, 7 days a week. The government and companies just complain that there is a shortage of workers, quite weeds with such wages and working hours. Paid days off don't exist either, day off, no pay. Wishing you a nice long weekend by me and all Thai workers on Labor Day.
