Those who want to see something different from Thailand than long beaches and swaying palms could travel to the Isaan.

In the province of Udon Thani, the village of Khiri Wong Kot is a must. Khiri Wong is surrounded by beautiful nature. The local community maintains traditions and folklore. Many years ago an eco-tourism project was developed to welcome tourists. Here they can experience what life is like in the Thai countryside. But the beauty of nature is also worth it.

Khiri Wong Kot won the Thailand Tourism Award in 1998 for the best culture tour in Thailand. Visitors can come here all year round, but the best time is between July and September when nature is in full bloom. It is also possible to travel from here to Khao Luang.

The village is accessible by mini bus from Talat Yao. The buses depart from 07:00 (the fare is 17 baht). With your own transport you can drive towards the Amphoe Mueang-Lan Saka route up to about 26 kilometers. At a certain point you will see a sign on the right with the reference to the village.

Interesting, but it may be that this village is located in Nakorn Si Thamarat instead. Udon Thani ? (big difference 🙂 )
If this is really here in Udon, please provide the coordinates?

Indeed, there also appears to be a “Khiri Wongkot” in Udon Thani, located on route 2348 close to the transition of Loei province and Udon Thani province, and just before the 211 – Mekong route.
“Amphoe Mueang-Lan Saka” and “Khao Luang” (in the article) refer to another “Khiri Wong Kot”

    Hello dear people,
Kiriwong Village is indeed located in the province of Nakhon si Thammarat, near the highest mountain in southern Thailand, the Khao Luang -1835 meters high-. This village has won a prize in eco-tourism, there is a lot of fruit growing in the area (Lan Saka) where due to the special (mountain) climate more often and some types of fruit can be harvested at different times than elsewhere. It is also known for pottery and trekking in the jungle around Khao Luang.
The video is about a completely different place. That lady is also talking about the Isaan.
It is a pity that such careless information is posted, but okay okay, a nice opportunity to promote the province (NsT) in which we live: nice weather and long days!
