Phra Kaew Pavilion- Chinese architecture in Thailand in the ancient city of Samut Prakan

Those who regularly visit Thailand will be amazed at the variety of architectural styles and special buildings in the country and not only in Bangkok but also in the rural areas.

In this new series we show photos of palaces, museums, government buildings, churches, historic buildings, special architecture and more. What is striking are the enormous contrasts, just like in the previous series about houses.

Every day we look for photos of remarkable buildings and we continue to do so as long as the readers like it or we stop when we can't find any more photos in the database. If you have a photo of a remarkable building in Thailand, you can of course submit it for placement.

Have fun watching this new series.

The Vimanmek Palace (Palace in the Clouds) can no longer be viewed because it closed in 2016 and has since been demolished. They say under renovation but no one knows for sure.

Another one found by searching on image and Google Maps.
Lumlukga Mosque is actually the มัสยิดกลางแห่งชาติ (National Central Mosque) at 45 หมู่ที่ 3 ถนน คลอง เก้า แขวง คลองสิบ เขต หนองจอก 10530 45 (3 moo 10530, Khlong Kaw Rd, Khlong Sip subdistrict, Nong Chok district, Bangkok XNUMX, Thailand ).
So this mosque is NOT in อำเภอ ลำลูกกา จังหวัด ปทุมธานี (Lam Luk Ka district, Pathum Thani province), but in เขต ห นองจอก (Nong Chok district).

Looking at Google Maps I see that the Vimanmek Palace has been rebuilt and some ditches have been dug around it. The building has not been on display since 2019 when the King declared the area enclosed by Ratchawithi Rd – U-Thong Nai Rd – Si Ayutthaya Rd – Nakhon Ratchasima Rd off-limits for the common people.
It is not clear to me whether he actually lives there now.

I see that the editors still haven't corrected the caption at the mosque.

    I visited vimannek years ago.
It was then brought back by HM Sirikit to the style how the royal family lived in 30 years when it was still in the south.
Personally I think it is part of Thai history and should therefore be accessible to ordinary people.
    Ben
