Dear Martin,
My data: male, 72 years old, non-smoker, non-drinker, blood pressure 135/80. Medication use, cozaar half tablet. Living in Bangkok.
Cataract surgery performed in NL 5 years ago. Current problem: eyes. Retina tears and then detaches. In February 2020 left eye. Retina was completely off, was put back through surgery but much damage, left vision recovered to a limited extent.
Now the retina of the right eye is also tearing. I know the symptoms so catch it early. Go to Rutnin Eye Hospital every week. Undergo 3 x laser treatment. This closes the crack, but a new crack appears every time. Can this tearing be stopped? Can't do laser treatment every week.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,

Dear T,
This is a problem that requires high specialization. So I can only make a suggestion. Perhaps there is a build up of fluid in one of the many layers of the retina. See: https://www.oogartsen.nl/oogartsen/glasdamp_netvlies/serosa_cscr/
For the rest, this is a matter for the ophthalmologist.
Yours faithfully,
Dr. Maarten
