Hello Maarten,

For years I have suffered from severe itching in both ears. Went to the doctor and told me it was some kind of eczema. White flakes also come out.

I have had a liniment to apply 2x a day, but the result is zero. The itching is sometimes very intense, and sometimes it wakes me up in the night.

The problem started after I used earplugs on a KLM plane. How can I get rid of this problem? Every time I'm with my finger in my ears and that can't be stopped. It's very annoying!

It would be a real relief to get rid of this.

I would like an appropriate answer from you.

Regards,

A.

Best A,

A common bug. In Spain I had special ear drops made for that. Never put ointment in your ear. That is asking for trouble.

Try it first with a few drops of vinegar in your ears a few times a day. Usually that's about it. If that doesn't work, buy: Eye drops with Betamethasone + Gentamicin. Mix that with alcohol (1 to 1) then add 1 to 4 vinegar. a 10 cc bottle contains 25 cc after that treatment. So you have to put it in another bottle.

Do not throw away the pipette. When dripping, you have to pull your ear up and back. Then the ear canal opens. If there is wax in your ear, it must be removed first.

Fill the ear four times a day and let it work for a few minutes. That might bite, but it won't last long.
Strangely enough, this also works with fungi.

Actually, it can also be done without gentamicin, but I don't know if that is for sale here. You can also ask for Dexoph.

If none of that work, you have a very resistant infection.

Courage,

Yours faithfully,

Maarten
