Dear Martin,

Currently residing in Cambodia, am 71 years old. Arrived January 60th and wanted to go back after four months. I am taking medicines Lixiana 25mg and Metoprolol 2mg. Now the Lixiana is finished and the hospital here gave me Walfarin XNUMX mg.

Tried to get medicines from the Netherlands but they don't do that. Don't know if they have these medicines in Thailand, maybe I could order them there? I think it is now too great a risk to go back to the Netherlands, it is not too bad here with the corona.

Yours faithfully,

R.

Dear R,

Lixiana (Edoxaban) is available in Thailand, but usually only in hospitals. Don't forget to mention the number of milligrams.
Warfarin is another drug that works differently. The blood must be regularly checked for the INR value.

You can also take 100 mg aspirin per day as an emergency solution.

Yours faithfully,

Dr. Maarten
