Men who eat cabbage vegetables three times a week are probably half as likely to develop prostate cancer as men who never eat cabbage vegetables. You can deduce this from a study that researchers from the American Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center have published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.

According to the same publication, a diet rich in leafy vegetables may also reduce the risk of prostate cancer.

Become older

As the years go by, there are some aches and pains left and right, which is understandable in itself. Also, really nasty diseases can arise that are usually the result of aging. For men, prostate cancer is one such example. A healthy lifestyle can contribute to keeping these kinds of nasty things out for longer.

Study

When the researchers decided on their study, it was already known that fruit and vegetables can reduce the risk of cancer in general, but not much was known about prostate cancer in particular. So the researchers studied the diets of more than XNUMX men whose doctors had diagnosed prostate cancer. The researchers compared this with the diet of a roughly equal group of men without prostate cancer.

To begin with, the researchers found no protective effect of fruit. A diet high in vegetables had a greater effect. The more vegetables men eat, the lower their risk of prostate cancer. Men who eat 21 servings of vegetables per week have a 35 percent lower risk of prostate cancer than men who eat no more than 7 servings per week.

After the researchers broke down their data further, they saw that cabbage vegetables had the strongest protective effect. In men who eat broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts or another cabbage vegetable three times a week or more, the risk of prostate cancer is almost halved compared to men who never eat cabbage vegetables.

        I could not help myself:
“men who have sex with more than 20 women DURING THEIR LIFE are less likely to get prostate cancer”
I then think to myself: I'll just wait until I'm no longer alive. Then I will have sex with more than 20 women and then I might not die of prostate cancer...

      Green tea helps lower PSA.

I myself use green tea extract capsules on the advice of an orthomolecular expert. 1 capsule would contain approximately the equivalent of 3-4 cups of green tea.

Also recommended as a source of information: the Voedzelhourglass by Kris Verburg. It mentions (among other things, but pre-eminently) parsley as a remedy against prostate cancer.

I was recently diagnosed with thrombosis in my leg, eating cabbages is not good for that, so everything has its pros and cons and that is for most scientific studies as there is a focus on 1 condition / disease.

Researchers from Canada came to the conclusion that men who had sex with different women were less likely to get prostate cancer. Probably the real reason is that these men have more ejaculations than men who stick to one woman. So eat a lot of cabbage and…

In my opinion, the best cure for prostate cancer is to have regular sex. If you don't use it, you lose it.

The advice my urologist gave was: if you are afraid of prostate cancer, drink 2 large cups of green tea every day. For many years I have been following this good advice with the result that my PSA values have improved dramatically. (these are values that are determined in the blood before the prostate).
Now an annual blood test can prevent a lot of disaster.
    I wish everyone good health!
