The general practitioner, Maarten Vasbinder, known to Thailandblog readers, has started a new initiative together with two other doctors, Jan Bonte (neurologist) and Els van Veen (general practitioner), the website: Medical Ethical Contact. That is a website with the aim of restoring the Hippocratic oath and professional secrecy. For the time being, it is mainly about Corona and vaccination, which, unlike the mainstream media, they want to be critical of.
The initiators are concerned about the dichotomy in our society. They see a development in which a distinction is made on the basis of a vaccination profile. They therefore wonder aloud where the medical resistance and medical contact have gone? The fact that a doctor asks critical questions and then has to defend himself by stating that he/she is not a virus denier, conspiracy theorist or anti-vaxxer makes them sad and makes them feel powerless.
The group of doctors from Medical Ethical Contact is also concerned about the propaganda surrounding vaccination against Covid-19, they say that no honest information is being given:
There is mainly propaganda for the vaccines to listen to on TV. Even the RIVM does not provide honest information. For example, it fails to mention that the vaccines are formally still in phase III of research. People who receive the injection would have to give permission because they are taking part in a study. But the RIVM dares to state that the vaccines are safe, while we still know nothing about the effects in the longer term (longer than six months).
