'Be Well', that's how the General practice center will be called next to the Banyan resort at the end of this year Hua Hin will be opened. Initiator Haiko Emanuel and advisor Gerard Smit talk about the monthly meeting of the NVTHC at the Sailing Club Hua Hin what the possibilities and plans are.

The unique out-of-hours GP service will be set up according to the Dutch model, starting with doctors, nurses and physiotherapists. There is a small pharmacy and 24/7 home care. The clinic is open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to XNUMX p.m.

Depending on the demand from the patients (target group: long stay/permanent resident foreign families), the services will be expanded in the coming years with a number of more specialized services (nowadays referred to as 'one and a half lines' in the Netherlands). Such as cardiology, phlebology, dermatology, ophthalmology, dentistry, etc). A kind of outpatient clinic for non-urgent treatments. But for now these are still ideas, not concrete plans.

Haiko Emanuel and Gerard Smit (former general practitioner) will answer questions from those present at the monthly meeting of the NVTHC on May 31. They are particularly interested in the opinion of those present.

The presentation of both gentlemen starts at half past seven. You are requested to be present for approximately 6 hours.

In a word CLASS, especially for people who do not or only partially master a foreign language.

Excellent initiative. Assume that doctors from Thailand will start working. There are many doctors here who do not come from a wealthy family.
I myself ran such a practice for 25 years, completely independent of hospitals, so that we could always get the best specialists from various locations. Own X-ray equipment.
Make sure there are no waiting lists.
I wish the promoters every success.

Please open a branch in Jomtien (not Pattaya). There is a great need here. Now dependent on the much too expensive, exorbitant, BPH that after 5 years of treating me for a skin problem (Dr. Vasbinder knows all about it) and about 300 baht lighter, I was told that they had no solution and they just sent me away . Now on the mend thanks to advice from Dr. Maarten who advised me to stop taking all those many medicines that went against each other.
A boat sails between Hua Hin with a night in Jomtien it should certainly work.
    In any case, good luck.

Awesome. All a pity that the hearing is only focused on Hua Hin. I am very consistent with the advice Dr Maarten gives on this blog, but sometimes a dialogue is also desirable. Would a video consultation be possible in the future? Or an opportunity for a second opinion. I realize very well that restriction is good, especially in the beginning, but this can also be a solution for non-residents in Hua hin. Is it possible to pass this suggestion on to the initiators?

Very good initiative. Am very interested. Currently still living in bangkok but have plans to move to Hua Hin in the near future.
