Dear Martin,

I am a healthy man of 54, a bit overweight but otherwise everything ok. The only problem I have in Thailand and not in the Netherlands is hemorrhoids.

I start the day with a banana and 2 slices of wholemeal bread. Also 3 or 4 slices of wholemeal bread for lunch and a warm meal with plenty of vegetables in the evening. Drink 3-5 liters of water throughout the day, depending on the temperature. Still, those hemorrhoids come back regularly.

First I used Proctosedyl Ointment and now Daflon 500 on the recommendation of the pharmacist.
Personally I prefer the Proctosedyl and it works better in my opinion.

Is there another/better solution I could use?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

B.

Dear B,
The best place for hemorrhoids is in the doctor's garbage can. There are now simple methods to remove them, such as a rubber band around them. Don't do it yourself.
There are many remedies to relieve the pain.
If Proctosedyl is your preference, I would use that. At night a suppository is best (Proctosedyl Suppositories). According to my information, they are for sale at Boots.
Yours faithfully,
Martin Vasbinder

The best remedy for hemorrhoids is: Chrysanthemum capsule
This is a natural remedy that is available everywhere. In Thai this is called เพชรสังฆาตแคปซูล

Hemorrhoids, if they have just arisen, can also be pushed back behind the sphincter muscle (preferably twice a day). Just don't be dirty with yourself. Saves a lot of suffering in the future. Or you have to get horny with the rubber band idea.
