In the west we have figurative broom wagons in Thailand they exist literally.

The broom wagon as we know it is a support vehicle (usually a van or minibus) at a sporting event on the road, for example at a walking tour, cycling race or footrace. The car drives after the last participant.

The main task of the broom wagon is to pick up participants who can no longer or do not want to participate and take them to the finish. Usually a first-aider drives along. For helpers along the route (stampers, traffic controllers), the passage of the broom wagon is the sign that their task is over.

The first broom wagon appeared in the Tour de France in 1910. Traditionally, a real broom is indeed attached to this wagon. Nowadays, leaders who give up usually immediately get into the car of their own team leader, although this is not allowed by the race regulations and can therefore be fined (Source: Wikipedia).

The Thai broom wagon also comes through our Soi once a week. Vacuum cleaners are not yet well established here, which is why this broom wagon will be driving around for a while.

They are so nice that I want to have one myself, would look so nice on my terrace. And always have a broom at hand. But how do I get such a car to Holland? Buzzing doesn't work!
