The Common Liora (Aegithina tiphia) is a small passerine bird in the Iora family of the same name, native to India and Southeast Asia.

The bird is a predominantly green and yellow colored songbird of 14 cm in length. They are insectivorous birds that scavenge leaves for invertebrate prey. The bird is olive green above and yellow to yellow green below. The iris is white with a yellow eye ring. The wings are dark with a clear double white wing stripe. The male is darker above and has a black tail, the female is olive green there.

Subspecies found in India are bright yellow below and in the rest of the range the color tends more towards green.

The common iora is found in the Indian Subcontinent, throughout Indochina, in the Greater Sunda Islands and the western Philippines. It is a bird that you can spot at forest edges, coastal scrub areas, mangrove forest, gardens and plantations up to 900 m above sea level.

it might be useful to mention the English name with the birds. It is much more common than the Dutch name.
By the way, a very nice series, well thought out

    • The Latin name is included, so you can also find the English name, just a matter of Googling.

  2. According to says up

I find it super handy, those Dutch names.
