The little tree swift (Hemiprocne comata) is a tree swift from the family of swifts. It is a common breeding bird in the Indian Archipelago.

The little tree swift is the smallest of the four species of tree swifts at 15 inches (XNUMX cm) in length. The top is brown to bronze with a metallic sheen. Most striking are the white eyebrow stripe and the white bar stripe that end in loose decorative feathers.

The little tree swift is found in the south of Myanmar and Thailand, further the peninsula of Malacca, Sumatra, Borneo and the Philippines. It is (still) a common bird that you can spot on the edges and open areas in rainforests.

The species has 2 subspecies:

H.c. comata: southern Myanmar, southern Thailand, Malaysia, Borneo, Sumatra and nearby islands.
H.c. major: the Philippines and the Sulu Islands.

Another beautiful bird! This one is indeed still a lot to spot.

I saw him in Phuket in the middle of the city
Hopefully it stays that way because his living area is also shrinking every day.
