Sinterklaas's birthday was celebrated in grand style at White Sand Beach in Hua Hin. Saint Nicholas came with his two Pieten, Pedro and Jonathan in a nice pick-up to the Dutch Association in the hotel on the beach. The sea was too choppy to come by boat and the Sinterklaas couple was ill, the good saint told the crowd of children who had gathered on the spot at the invitation of the NVTHC.

Their hearts beat with anticipation and they could hardly wait for Saint Nicholas to start handing out the presents. Previously, NVT chairman Herman Philipsen had welcomed the more than 60 attendees. The evening was also attended by a dozen non-members, the majority of whom have registered as members.

All the children present were called forward and received a personal word from Saint Nicholas, often with the instruction to somehow do their best in the coming year.

The Pieten Pedro and Jonathan looked in a striking way. Inquiries showed that one in Spain had been lying on one side in the sun and the other Piet on the other side. Burning then caused the color difference.

After the children had come to Saint Nicholas, it was the turn of some adults to get on the mat.

After that, everyone could attack the buffet, provided by WSB manager Huub Korver and his team. The buffet included raw endive stew, stew with meatballs, delicious pea soup and Thai dishes. This was offered by AA Insurance from Hua Hin (and Pattaya).

As a result of the performance of the duo of The Police, it was fun in White Sand Beach for a long time. There was dancing that it was a delight, while the children were busy with their presents. Anyone who misses Sinterklaas' NVT party next year is selling themselves short.

I think they are ZWARTE Pieten and these should just be and remain black, it's a pity that Dutch culture in Thailand is going to ruin.

Oh what, I thought it was a brilliant solution to the Black Pete discussion. In the Netherlands they do not come up with such a creative idea. The Wise Ones have clearly gone east again!

    Well,

Is “probably” due to the enormous distance that the Pick-up has driven, to drive from Spain to Thailand (boat could not sail due to the high waves) Bamboo boat?

Or we have to organize a collection for St. Nicholas and buy a Dutch boat, which can withstand high waves.

And yet the children enjoyed this CHILDREN'S PARTY, it will be a concern for them! I am glad that the small adjustments have also been made here. Cheers!
