Sinterklaas could look back on a resounding success in Hua Hin after Saturday evening. More than a hundred parents and more than 30 children came to Say Cheese for the birthday of the good saint. He was accompanied by two real Black Petes and his fungus.

Considering the risks of a fall, Saint Nicholas had not climbed the beast, but on the reins. It was remarkable that one of the Petes had become a father the same day. Congratulations Pete!

Jeroen Groenewegen of Say Cheese had transformed a large space into a coloring studio, where the children were kept busy. The occasional duo Johan Wiekel (guitar) and Thomas Voerman (accordion) played Sinterklaas songs and the many attendees sang along at the top of their lungs. This was clearly different for most children. Three times they sang to Sinterklaas at his request with a competition song: Jingle Bells. That certainly didn't spoil the fun…

Afterwards, the young father-Piet quickly disappeared to his wife in the hospital and the Philippine band got their legs off the floor.

Sinterklaas was extremely satisfied with the turnout and the course of events. He promised to come back next year.

My daughter and my wife were able to see St. and Piet in Thailand for the first time….
It was a neatly organized children's party in the broadest sense of the word.

Thanks again to “Say Cheese” and the staff.

    See you next year.

    Gr. Rick.
