Many readers of Thailandblog are not happy with the new website www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl as a replacement for the website of the Dutch embassy in Bangkok. It's quite a search for the old information.

The income statement is now available on the new site, see www.nederlandwereldwijd.nl/landen/thailand/wonen-en-werken/verklaring-omtrent-inkomen-en-watt-in-thailand

We have also placed the text below.

Income and wealth statement in Thailand

The Thai Immigration authorities require a so-called income statement of foreigners who want to apply for a (year) visa for Thailand.

In fact, this is a form on which your signature is legalized. It is not an income statement as issued in the Netherlands. The statement (or legalization) can be requested in writing at the Dutch embassy in Bangkok.

Which documents do you need for the application?

Written requests will be returned within 10 working days of receipt.

With a written request, you must send the following documents:

  • a fully completed and signed application form “self-declaration of income”
  • copy of a valid Dutch identity document (passport or ID card)
  • THB 1300 in cash (you will get proof of payment and change if needed)
  • if you want to transfer the fee by bank, please send a copy/print of your transfer of 26,25 euros to the bank account in The Hague, stating your initials and surname + ZMA Bangkok:
    ING Bank NV
    Amsterdam
    IBAN: NL93INGB0705454029
    BIC or Swift code: INGBNL2A
Account in the name of: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, concerns RSO-ASIA
  • a self-addressed return envelope on which you affix the required stamp(s).
  • your contact details (telephone/email)

Incomplete applications will not be processed and returned.

You are advised to use a courier service (Thailand Post, UPC, DHL) so that you can check where your mail item is.

The embassy is not responsible for lost mail or late delivery.

Change of procedure

The procedure as described on this page will change soon. View the news item about this. As soon as that is the case, the information on this page will be adjusted.

I sent an email this week when it was not yet available on the new site and received the answer below in English.

Almost the same text that I posted on April 7 at 11.11 am in subject “Website Dutch embassy in Bangkok closed” . I received this information via email. Only the last sentence was added later on the website, as was the possibility to download the form.

    Hello my name is Robert,

At the end of next month it will be time for my application for a year visa.
Is it no longer possible what I have been doing for a very long time, with a year to the consulate that moved not long ago.

I also pay there and get a statement for Emigration, it was always okay.

I would like to hear whether I now have to apply for that statement at the Dutch Embassy, or whether the consulate in Pattaya is still working.

    My thanks for response.

    Robert
    Pattaya.

If you pay for the income statement in Bangkok you have to pay 1300 baht.
If you pay via The Hague it is 26,25 euros.
If I convert this to your rate which has been bad for a while it comes to about 953 baht.
I don't think that 1300 bath is appropriate at all.
Why does this difference have to be more than 300 bath?
Are we not being scammed enough by the Dutch state?
The price of 1 euro or 36,50 bath would be more appropriate for a stamp on an a 4 sheet made yourself with an office program and copied 1000 times.
It's not even an official document.
    Please respond.

Hi, I sent my income statement on 29/3. I called in advance if that was possible because it was not properly stated on the old site.
I received it back last Wednesday (5/4) so nice and fast.
I had put 1300 baht in the envelope and I got 330 baht back.
I received the stamp plus the bill of what it costs.
So you will not be scammed and it can be sent by mail at this time
If you need it, just call after the embassy or it is still possible by post.

      Income statement costs 970 baht.

Requested this statement last week. 30 euros transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a printout of the payment, a copy of the passport and of course the completed statement. Return envelope included – mailed Monday in Chiang Rai, returned Thursday same week. Excellent service!

Hello, the lady who puts that stamp and puts the statement in the envelope, which then seals and then throws it in the mailbox, must also be paid. And all these actions together naturally require a lot of time and attention. All together it takes at least 2 minutes. And that's what those Baht 1300 are for.

Four weeks ago I personally went to the embassy for an income statement. To the best of my knowledge I only paid 970 thb. The fact that it is not getting any clearer and that a change in reporting must take place will be a wish for everyone involved.

  8. Joan says up

Went to the embassy last week (by appointment), left after 5 minutes with a signed statement (which cost not Bt. 1,300 but 970).

  9. Jochen schmitz says up

Do you have to go to the Embassy in Bangkok for an income statement or not?

    • somewhere in Thailand says up

I understand from this that a trip to the Austrian consulate in Thai Garden Resort is no longer necessary?
