Jay Fai is an exceptional and iconic restaurant in the metropolis of Bangkok, Thailand. It's a seemingly inconspicuous spot amid the maze of street food stalls and food stalls that adorn the streets of Bangkok. However, unlike most other stalls, it has Jay Fai secured a place in the gastronomic annals of the world by earning a coveted Michelin star.

Supinya Junsuta, better known to locals and culinary enthusiasts as Jay Fai, is the driving force behind this establishment. Despite the fame and global success of her restaurant, her approach to cooking is still deeply rooted in tradition. Her signature ski goggles, which she wears to protect herself from the splashes of her piping hot wok, have become almost as famous as her culinary creations.

When it comes to the food, Jay Fai goes beyond preparing simple Thai dishes. She has built a reputation for transforming traditional street food dishes into culinary masterpieces. Her crab omelette, for example, is not just any omelette; it is a sumptuous, richly filled dish that contains generous amounts of fresh crab. The 'pad kee mao', often translated as 'drunken noodles', is another highlight, prepared with a precision and expertise that makes every bite a flavor explosion.

The restaurant's popularity often means there are long queues, with both locals and international visitors waiting patiently for a chance to sample Jay Fai's legendary dishes. This is a testament to the unique place Jay Fai has created in Bangkok's culinary landscape – a street food restaurant that has captured the world's attention and appreciation, yet remained true to its simple, traditional roots.

Extremely exaggerated. I was there recently and under no circumstances will I go back. Crab in an egg shell is the so-called signature dish and I don't find anything special about it. The restaurant itself, just like the interior, is completely substandard.

Sadly over-hyped. I was there a few years ago.
The food will be pretty good, but paying almost €30 for just a crab omelet is going too far for me.

    A nice addition.
