Delicious… clear… Pattaya Beer!
In addition to the many attractive aspects of Pattaya, this seaside resort is also heaven on earth for the real beer drinker. Locks full of it are cleared every day either in bottles or as a draft beer.
The countless bars and restaurants offer something for every taste beer, can be a Thai one such as Singha, Chang or Leo, but also the international brands brewed here in Thailand such as (of course) Heineken, San Miguel and the recently available Carlsberg. In the English pubs, the special British beers such as Guinness, Tatley's and the Germans occasionally delicious wheat beers such as Weihenstephaner and Franziskaner. There's a lot more beer, because I haven't even mentioned the Belgian Japanese and Laotian beers yet.
Enough choice you would say. Still, there seems to be room for another new brand, Pattaya Lager Beer. The launch of this Pattyan beer took place in December in a grand ceremony at the Cape Dara Hotel, where the mayor of Pattaya and many other local celebrities graced the introduction of Pattaya Lager Beer. By the way, Pattaya Beer originates from Laos, but is bottled in Pattaya. Now almost two months later, people are busy introducing beer in bars and restaurants and the many expat clubs are not forgotten.
I have now had the opportunity to try out the Pattaya Beer. I am a beer drinker, but not a real connoisseur. Grolsch is my favourite, but due to the lack of it, I am satisfied with Heineken. I can only say that Pattaya Beer is a good drinkable beer, certainly better than the many cheap brands on the market here. It has a very distinctive bouquet and perhaps I should say that many will like it better than the mass-produced lagers of the internationals.
Fair is fair, Phuket was the first with its own beer, but now Pattaya also has its own original brand. Cheers!
As a beer drinker, dare to say that I don't care what kind of beer I drink.
I think it's about many, just like me, it's not about the beer, it's about a little high
to become (happy).
As a beer lover, I can confirm that Pattaya Lager is very drinkable. Heineken, Singha and Chang don't really appeal to me. The Chang Export is tasty, just like the Leo and the Tiger Chrystel Light.
I also like to drink the English Ales, especially The Old Speckeld Hen which is finally back after about 5 years.
Do you also notice that draft beer in Thailand loses its foam within seconds?
It is better to drink from the bottle!
Has anyone ever tried 'Cheers'? That tastes / smells like after shave. My favorite beer is Lao, brewed in Laos. I fervently hope that Lao opens a brewery in Thiland one day.
Patience, dear Cor, is a virtue.
I heard in Laos, in Vientiane, that this is about to happen very soon.
Please note that Thai water will be used and that could be the problem.
Cheers!
(So I was able to replenish my stock quite a bit)
I think it's just a beer from an already existing well-known beer brand, only with a different label. It doesn't matter and it looks nice. It won't spoil the fun any further.
In the Irish pubs in Thailand ( and there are plenty ) the occasional Killkenny tastes.
