Those who want to stay far away from mass tourism and are looking for an authentic and unspoilt island can also put Koh Yao Yai on the list.

Op Koh Yao Yai you will not encounter hordes of Russians, Chinese or other tourists. The small tropical island is located east of Phuket and is part of the Ao Phang-Nga Marine National Park. Koh Yao Yai mainly consists of forests and kilometers of beautiful sandy beaches. From the rolling hills behind the beaches you have a fantastic view of the limestone rock formations that characterize the coastline of the opposite Ao Nang.

The local population earns a living by fishing and growing coconuts, rice, cashews and rubber. Tourism has only started to increase a little in recent years. Visitors to this island mainly come here for peace, beach and nature. On the island you can spot countless butterflies, monkeys and birds.
