Koh Talu

Koh Talu is a small, beautiful and hardly undiscovered island off the coast of Bang Saphan. It is one of the few private islands in Thailand and the owner does everything to preserve this area.

Away from the hustle and bustle around you. Instead, peace, palm trees, a snow-white beach and splashing your feet in the surf. The Koh Talu Island Resort is located between the palm trees on a beautiful sandy beach.

There are three bays with beautiful white beaches and at the back you will find a high cliff with a spectacular view on top. The marine area around Koh Talu is very rich in fish and it is one of the important places for fishermen in the Gulf of Thailand.

In the past, there were thousands of fishing boats that often used explosives for fishing. This destroyed the ecosystem around Koh Talu and so in 1982 the Fisheries Department of the Ministry of Agriculture started the “Sea Reviving Project”. This is how Koh Talu Island Resort was created, an eco resort where you not only enjoy a wonderful holiday, but you can also see with your own eyes how the coral landscape is being restored and sea turtles are being rescued, cared for and brought back to the sea.

If you are looking for a beach holiday near Bangkok for a (long) weekend away, then Koh Talu is an excellent choice. Can be booked at Green Wood Travel: www.greenwoodtravel.nl/Koh-talu-het-groen-eiland
