Just a 10-minute boat ride from Koh Samui is one of Thailand's hidden gems: the islet Koh Madsum or also called Ko Mat Sum.

You can go there for a romantic stay or if you are looking for peace and privacy. The small serene island has the comfort of a modern luxury resort. You can also fish, snorkel, water ski, kayak or treat yourself to a relaxing spa treatment.

The island itself is very narrow, so it's nice to walk from one side to the other, which takes about 15 minutes.

Unlike their famous counterparts in the Bahamas, the presence of these pigs on Koh Madsum is relatively unknown. They were probably introduced by locals years ago and have adapted to island life.
