Koh Mak or Koh Maak is a rustic Thai Island, which falls under Trat Province, in the eastern Gulf of Thailand. The beaches are pristine and enchantingly beautiful.

The island has an area of 16 km² and is located between Koh Chang and Koh Kut. Unlike Koh Chang and Koh Kut, the island is quite flat. At low tide it is even possible to walk to Koh Kham. The island is home to about 800 residents. Koh Mak has a temple, a primary school, three fishing villages, a market and a health center.

On Koh Mak there are a few thousand hotel beds, spread all over the island. No more accommodations may be built, so that the island retains a small-scale character. You can suffer from sand flies in the summer. If you're allergic to it, you're screwed.

From Ao Ban Bao, a fishing village on Koh Chang, a boat departs every morning at 9:00 am to Koh Mak. The boat also stops on the way on Koh Wai and after Koh Mak also on Koh Kradang and Koh Kham. The trip to Koh Mak takes about an hour and costs 400 THB pp. You can also take a speedboat from Laem Ngop, a coastal town near Trat, to Koh Mak.
