This morning I wanted to make an appointment at the embassy in The Hague for a visa, but that is no longer possible until the end of November. This is what I got my screen.

Applications are not yet possible for Dutch people or Belgium. Just take the test.
Am I eligible to apply online?
For France it has been working for a long time.

It is no longer possible to apply for a visa via the above-mentioned site.
I tried this, and after creating the newly created account, I saw this text: “You are not eligible to apply for a visa through Thai E-Visa system. Please apply for a visa in person at the nearest Thai Embassy or Consulate. ”

    So sorry!

Do I also need to make an appointment for a tourist visa (max 60 days)? Previously, this could simply be done at the counter during office hours.

I bought a ticket and will leave on December 2 and return on January 22. I am now very curious how I can still get a visa.

Have you started reading TB since yesterday? It is of course possible that you are only now looking for information.

Ever since people were able to return to Thailand, roughly October 2020, you have had to make an appointment at the embassy to obtain a visa due to corona measures.

The appointment calendar in The Hague is currently already full until mid-December and you can no longer make new appointments because the online system for applying for a visa will come into effect at the end of November.

Draw your own conclusions here if you want a visa and want to leave on December 2.
Maybe use a visa office or leave on visa exemption.

Thank you very much for answering my question!

I regularly watch TB but because I haven't been to Thailand in the past 1,5 years I skipped the visa related questions and answers. So was not aware of this.

This afternoon I called a visa office and was told that I have to contact them again on November 2 (as soon as things are final). They can schedule an appointment at the Thai Embassy in The Hague.

I also read that you indicate that it may be possible to leave on a visa exemption, but I must have my visa ready before I can apply for a Thailand pass?

With the current CoE you can also leave without a visa.
The Thailandpass only replaces the CoE.
It will therefore have no effect to leave visa-free. Or it would surprise me.

The problem can only be your ticket if it mentions a date later than 30 days, but it can possibly be solved with a flexi ticket. Then adjust back to your desired departure date after arrival.

But of course you can also use that visa office and then you will immediately be in order with everything. And as it should be if you intend to go to Thailand for longer than 30 days.
Visa offices do indeed have a separate arrangement regarding agreements with the embassy. Otherwise, they would not be able to handle many visa applications if they also have to make an appointment for each application themselves
They usually group those requests and have one or more fixed appointments per week for pick-up and pick-up.
By the way, they may not like the fact that travelers can soon request everything online.

If you do use that visa office, I have a question.
Can you let me know what financial conditions you have to prove for your tourist visa?
I hear from a reader that the embassy has rather high requirements for a simple tourist visa, which I find rather exaggerated.
          Thanks in advance for that.

            Hi Ronnie,

The woman from the visa office hinted yesterday that I have to provide bank statements from the past 6 months showing a monthly income of approximately 1.000 per month. I didn't go into it further because I certainly comply with this.

I will contact the visa office again on November 2nd and will specifically inquire about the financial conditions you need to prove (maybe a bank account with a certain budget will also suffice). I will definitely come back to this and let you know if it all worked out with my visa.

Thanks for the very useful info!

            Regards, Jurgen

Thanks, because The Hague is again vague about that.
              Brussels is clearer
“Copy of 6-month bank statement with a minimum balance of 700 Euros (Single Entry Tourist Visa)”
Is in line with what that visa office says.

    @ Ronnie
I agree with you that due to the constant illogical rule change, we have to draw our own conclusions and our plan.
But I Thai high-ranking hotemots who loudly trumpet that relaxations will come from October 1 and that “Thailand will reopen” from November 1 is in stark contrast to the practice.

I personally experience that a COE application procedure is a complex, long and laborious digital procedure, where it is not at all clear which documents they exactly want to see uploaded, which delays and/or stalls the procedure. For example, an EU vaccination certificate clearly stating 2/2 Cominarty (Pfizer) is not enough. 2 certificates must be uploaded. So also that in which 1/2 Comirarty (Pfizer) is stated. While the first clearly indicates that you have been vaccinated twice.

The temporary suspension of embassies and the long waiting times do not contribute in the least to the “Reopening of Thailand”, on the contrary.

What conclusions should we draw from these kinds of abuses?
Are Thai officials no longer expected to serve their country's interests and objectives?
Shouldn't that mean that the entry of foreigners into the country is properly and smoothly facilitated administratively?

It is about applying for a Tourist Visa and that this used to be possible at the counter.
I indicate that for more than a year now you have to make an appointment first.
If you follow it a bit here, you also know that you have to schedule those appointments in time.

Doesn't have anything to do with CoE, vaccinations, easing or whatever you want involved.

The fact that I say that he must then draw his conclusion means that he will probably no longer be able to obtain his visa.
I therefore give him 2 solutions, where most only indicate the problems….
