ImmigrationPattaya.

Today, April 8, I visited immigration to extend my retirement visa based on pension income. After visiting the bank for the letter regarding my account and an overview of deposited amounts from April 8 (200 Baht) 2021 to April 8, 2022, I was at immigration at 10.00 a.m. and was outside again at 10.15:14.00 a.m. with the number for the later collection of passport (Monday after XNUMX p.m.) outside again.

So things went smoothly again now that immigration has apparently been relieved of all the hassles about people staying longer due to covid.

My surprise for immigration consisted of the following information:

  • TM 7 with passport photo
  • All copies of my passport and stamps and 90 days form.
  • Income statement drawn up by the German/Austrian consulate (this one does not attach the papers of income to the letter and folds the corner and stamps this. Now costs 34.07 euros, the other 40 euros).
  • The data provided by the bank and copies of the bank book 1 st page and last.
  • The statement drawn up by my housemate that I live at the address indicated, with his ID card (front and back, back number also appears to be important during a check).

I read the piece and immediately thought I should congratulate that man on his achieved result. Based on pension income demonstrated with his Thai bank account. Nice piece of work, because I couldn't have done that a while ago. But in the follow-up piece you indicate that you used an income statement from the Austrian consul in Pattaya and Thai bank details. You could have omitted these last pieces (ad 200 baht), because they don't matter. It's effort for nothing and a waste of money.

Unfortunately immigration pattaya asks for this information. I would like to mention that I only update my bank book once a year, so that it does not show what happens every month.

I did what was required last year. What is 200 baht superfluous if you get a smooth treatment.

Dear Harald, I did my retirement extension at the end of January of this year at immigration Jomtien and like all previous years (7 pieces) it was always the same as far as income is concerned, only an income statement. I tried this year through my bank book, but it was not accepted and put aside. Which means I got these bank notes back with a throwaway gesture. Nice to frame then.

I don't understand the point of a copy of your bank book. I always do my extension in Chiang Mai with a visa support letter from the Dutch embassy and never have to show anything from my Thai bank account. If you use deposited amounts, then an income statement is superfluous, I think. Or am I seeing it wrong?

      Willem,
formally you are right but the immigration asks and we bring what they ask.
the regulations require income statement and/or bank statement monthly deposit or sufficient balance in your account.
So the sting is in the and/or
We assume the or and some immigration offices assume the and.

In Jomtien/Pattaya people are not charmed by a Thai bank book proof for the application for extension of retirement under the non o visa. There, only the income statement is allowed as proof. However, one can go there with Thai bank details if you support the 800.000 baht scheme. There are a number of countries that are allowed to use the bank details and that is due to the fact that those countries do not receive an income statement from their embassy.
