Retirement extension Cheang Wattena immigration. Made an appointment on January 11 for today January 25, 2023 between 1300 and 1400 hours. Be there at 13.00:13.20 PM. Your turn at 13.40:XNUMX p.m. Stamp at XNUMX:XNUMX PM.

Supplied by me:

  • The signed application with passport photo.
  • My passport.
  • The signed copies of my passport.
  • (Only the used pages).
  • The copy signed by me 90 days notification (so the return).
  • A signed copy of the departure card (tm6).
  • The visa support letter issued by the Dutch embassy.
  • The documents that were provided for the support letter (in my case the monthly pension letters about the amount of the monthly payments (two pension funds and two AOW (also the holiday allowance).
  • The calculation of the totals of this benefit.
  • A map of the location of my residence. (moo job).
  • Subsequently, forms filled in on site about not working and what can happen if you do not comply with the rules. (three documents)
  • I was photographed with one of those documents.

Checking the documents was routine. A check mark was placed on everything that was checked. What was special was that a check was placed at and the emblem of the embassy (the blue mark with the Dutch lion and the signature. I suspect that they checked the color of the mark at the top of the letter and whether the signature was genuine.

No questions were asked.

Paid 1900 Baht, got a receipt.

Before I knew it I was outside again with the year extension. So I went for it only with the visa support letter. More than enough income. No combination. I've been doing this myself for 18 years now. This was the shortest time ever for me.

The appointment system is a relief at cheang Wattena.

I never submit these documents, nor have they ever been asked for them.

    That's right Hans.
But in 2010 it was requested by an immigration officer.
I "coincidentally" had them with me. But to keep up the pace, I have since submitted them together with the visa support letter.

And in the context of never having the official ask for something trivial (I already provided them with the application for the visa support letter) I leave the whole package that I get back from the embassy together.
And to avoid the discussion of whether you should provide a calculation to the embassy. Don't make the application for the visa support letter more difficult than it already is. Especially if you have multiple sources of income.

The immigration officer must also make it easy for you and it must be clear to him/her how the embassy arrived at the amount.

So yes it shouldn't but it is allowed.
    greeting

How effectiveness can vary by Immigration office. On Samui it takes 8 days for a stamp.

    • Lung addie says up

      Dear Johan,
you should not forget that the immigration office in Koh Samui is only a secondary office. The head office is in Surat Thani. This means that all important documents must first go there and, you are not the only farang on Koh Samui, there are several thousand.

It is of course fine to give them such a huge pile of papers, but it is also a considerable extra effort for yourself. When renewing, I bring : Passport, bank book, rental contract, bank letter and the form of immigration with a photo. Copies of everything and that was it.

I was also asked for it in Jomtien.

Does the visa support letter no longer have to be legalized at Foreign Affairs …?

    • Lung kees says up

That depends on which office of emigration you use

I still need to get it legalized and I will go to the emigration office in nakhon pathom

Chiang Mai annual renewal quick and easy.

No extra documents, no map of where you live. No financial proof with an income statement from the NL embassy. Nothing legalized. A new year stamp within 30 minutes with an online appointment.

Just to be clear, in the Netherlands you call this a visa support letter and in Belgium avitavit if I'm not mistaken, so my question:
by giving this for retirment or NON-O it is true that no bank proof of thai account is needed because I also want to stay in thailand in the future, but all my money comes through a Belgian account and therefore not especially through thai (which I also use by the way have ) based on this:
A letter of guarantee from the local or overseas Embassy or Consulate that proving the monthly pension of the Applicant not less than Baht 65,000 per month (together with reference documents showing the source of monthly pension)
    or in Thai
more information More information More information More information อิงทมี่าของรายได้ดังกล่าว comes from the NON-O visa application

    • Lung addie says up

      Dear Pratana,
it is true that, if you apply for an annual extension with an affidavit, you should not, in principle, have to provide proof of money in a Thai account. However, keep in mind that the immigration officer always 'MAY' ask, and has the right to do so, to show proof of cash withdrawals in Thailand and this on the basis of a Thai account, for example. This is because they want what you live on, after all you can't live without cash withdrawals. The amounts then play little or no role, as long as they are credible.

    • Ferdinand says up

The affidavit submitted to the Belgian embassy is your own statement whose signature is legalized by the consul.
A few years ago such a thing was accepted without question by most Immigration Officers, but not anymore.

  9. Pjotter says up

Phoe, hope that legalizing the original visa support letter is not requested from Korat imm in the future. Is YET another “extra door that needs to be opened”. By the way, I once told me to have all the documents you need or THINK you need with you, but only hand over the documents that are on their “handout list”. This, they said then, in order not to have a mandatory document with the imm next time. office. Anyway, you have to have what they ask for, of course.

    • William Korat says up

      Correct Piotr,

The 'system' is allowed but does not have to lead to these kinds of local wishes, after all, that's how it works.
Adding documents that are not asked seems to switch the officials on a switch or perhaps a 'smart' remarks to several on Friday afternoon at drinks.
      And hop another new line.

Was that a printout from maps.google?
    Or a self-made drawing?

    • Janderk says up

      Cees,
I've been handing in a sketch for years. Coarse and not to scale.
Add a well-known temple and indicate the road where your house is located.

I don't know if they accept google maps. never tried.

      Greetings Janderk

    • It is says up

On Koh Samui they both ask:
      1. a hand-drawn map of your house and surroundings
      en
      2. a printout of google map
