A cremation in Thailand (video)

In this video with a Dutch voice-over you can see the Buddhist and animistic rituals at a cremation in Thailand. It is recorded in Chum Phae District of Khon Kaen (Isan) Province. The family of the deceased person has given permission to film this ritual.

What is clear from the video is that rural Thai people deal with death differently than we do here in the west. The belief in reincarnation means that a cremation has a less heavy emotional charge than as we know it when saying goodbye to a loved one.

The video may contain shocking images.

I have experienced a cremation but some things were still unclear to me. That has now been clarified, thank you.

Often funerals noticed in passing, but never experienced. This video explains a lot and is also beautiful to watch. Thank you very much for that.

Empower this view of how it really is. Down to almost every little detail.
1 very basic detail for me, every time again, is an old 5 liter engine oil canister filled with 5 liters of diesel oil that is poured over the body, just before lighting, as auxiliary fuel.
And then the same man is standing with that jerry can in one hand, eating a sauce ice cream.

Yes, more than a week, day and night is the ceremony.
In particular, take the TIME to process the loved ones, IN THE PRESENCE of friends, family and acquaintances,
gives this moment a SPOT and gives peace.

Something completely different than spending 1-2 hours to go to a cemetery or crematorium:
Shake hands, see the box, coffee and sandwich and quickly back to the car in the parking lot.
    Because we are soooo busy.

    KhunBram.

So far one of the best video report ever seen on Thaiblog. Have experienced a total cremation before, but after this great report everything is now clear and clear. The voice of the speaker is also very special, just like in a well-known documentary.
You could say, what are we worrying about, life is even more beautiful here after, why be afraid of death. For those interested in this theme, I can recommend the book by Alexander Eben, a neurosurgeon who describes a near-death experience with hitherto unexplained and unexplained views (cq proofs) about faith and consciousness. Highly recommended just like seeing this beautiful video!

Book: Alexander Eben “Proof of Heaven”, also translated into Dutch and available in bookstores and probably also as an E-book.
