Thailand around the Nieuwmarkt
For several weeks now I have settled in Amsterdam on long leave, within the canal belt, in my city house on the Nieuwe Prinsengracht.
A great location, from which I can cross just about the entire center of the city on foot to enjoy the many beautiful things it has to offer museums, libraries, concert halls, theaters, not to mention the splendor of the canal belt itself. Amsterdam is by far the most beautiful and fascinating city in the country and other cities can only compete for second place. I will not dwell on that…..
The fact that I am on long leave in the Netherlands does not mean that I am now deprived of all Thai pleasures. My city house is located a stone's throw from the Nieuwmarkt (near the beautiful Waag building), around which there are a few Thai restaurants, one of which has been located there since 1995.
In the Koningsstraat, which leads to the Nieuwmarkt, there is a Thai takeaway center, another Thai restaurant and even a shop for Thai specialties, where you can find everything for the massaman and the tom yam kung! In the culinary field I don't have to miss anything.
Even for people who enjoy Thai massage, facilities are available nearby. However, because I strongly suspect that in these cases there is massage plus extra or with a happy ending, I have of course refrained from entering these establishments. For the real enthusiasts!
Dear Pete ,
everything Thai style in Amsterdam ; but Amsterdam prices.
Then I'll go to Utrecht (just kidding), I'll stay here (Thailand)
Hi, it might be nice to mention a few restaurants and in which street they are.
Ed
@Ed, restaurant Bird is located at Zeedijk 74. They also have a kind of snack bar across the street from the restaurant.
Book in advance as it is always busy.
Nearby at Binnen Bantammerstraat 1 is a Thai restaurant O-Cha. Is small and cramped inside but very tasty food. Was once given a very high mark by Johannes van Dam.
