If your hair is good

To judge for yourself whether a lady is attractive, you have a number of options. I'm not going to mention all those possibilities, you probably know them, I limit myself in this story to her hairstyle.

I think that is an important aspect to complete the “picture” of attractiveness. As far as Thai ladies are concerned, there is an iron law for me: their hair is straight, long and black!

The vast majority of the younger Thai population does adhere to “my law”. It is certainly always sleek, I have never seen a Thai lady with naturally curly or frizzy hair on her head. Long hair is also common and by long I mean that the hair reaches far beyond the shoulders. Mother Nature has ensured that all Thai women have black hair from birth, which can naturally turn gray with age.

Hair length

The long hair, which when she walks, waves over the back and shoulder blades of a Thai lady, is the most beautiful to me. If for practical or hygienic reasons she bundles her hair in a ponytail, that can also form an attractive whole, but rolled up in a bun with an elastic hair band I think is a lot less.

Well, if I know the lady and therefore know what she can look like with her hair hanging loose, it's still up to that, but a girl with a bun, unknown to me, will have to do her very best to get to me in a different way. to taste. When I see a knut, I often think of a high school teacher. She, what we thought was a terribly old lady with gray hairs, nicknamed De Knoet, tried to teach us French and those were not our favorite lessons.

I don't like short haircuts. For example, I also think it is a pity that many schoolchildren walk around with such short haircuts.

Hair colour

Of the four natural hair colors blonde, black, brown and red, which you can find in Europe, only black is found among the Thai people. The condition is that the parents must be Thai and not a mix of Thai and a foreigner.

But the Thai ladies go with the times and see on television that color can be given to their hair. You also see black hair with a little bit of brown dyed through it, the coupe soleil shall I say. That touch of brown can be turned on with a little more brown, until the entire head of hair has undergone a brown hair rinse. I never really like it and then we will not talk about a blonde Thai lady. A horrible face that evokes associations of a certain profession that the lady in question exercises.

And oh, then you also have the teenage girls, who have just come out of puberty and think they should look punky with yellow, red or green colored hair. I think that's fine, that craziness will pass by itself, usually right?

Anecdote

It happened many years ago. My Thai wife had gone out with a bunch of girls for a friend's birthday. I don't know where exactly, but it must have been Walking Street. Anyway, she came home late and was in a happy (drinking?) mood. Happy?, well not me, because I immediately saw what had happened to her. She had had her long hair cut off and came home with a short haircut. What have you @#$#@$% done to your hair? I asked. Well, the birthday girl had her hair cut and the whole group of 5 girls decided to all do the same. “Nice, isn't it?” my wife said laughing. I was getting angrier by the minute, because she knew I didn't like short hair. When my anger was at its peak, she said, still giggling, "I really thought you'd like it, but if I'm wrong, I'll change it anyway." And at that moment she pulled off the wig she had picked up somewhere and fortunately her beautiful long hair reappeared.

My anger disappeared like snow in the sun, she had me nicely. She made up for it, because a moment later she was lying on the bed with her hair fanned out on the pillow. I think that's the most beautiful pose a woman can adopt.

Certainly true - it is well known in the circles in the know that new shampoos are all tried out precisely in TH - a very critical audience.

I have never seen a Thai lady with naturally curly hair on her head. Those are your words, aren't they?

    Dear Gringo
Well, I must really disappoint you, and better watch your caps, because I'm quite sure my wife has naturally curly hair, and she hates hairdressers. So after 10 years of being together I know for sure that the curls are hers and not the hairdresser's.
    Greetings Cor.

I've noticed lately that many women with a nice job wear their hair shorter.
    A little above the shoulder.

Yes, that's the new fashion. My wife's hair is also short now, on my advice, by the way. I think 'older' women (45+), not just Thai women, look better with shorter hair.

Married women over 30 usually wear their hair a little shorter, I think. I don't think it has much to do with the job. If they have long hair, they usually have to pin it up if it concerns a "nice" job.

I see “younger” women wearing them for much longer, right? Perhaps because they want to distinguish themselves from the young girls still going to school.

Or maybe it's very simple and just a fashion trend…. or is it just more practical 😉

I too loved and still love long, straight, black hair. And I am extremely happy that my wife has such hair. A year ago, however, she had her hair really cut to shoulder height. I didn't like. But now a year later it has grown considerably again, because in the end she thinks it's more beautiful herself... I'm happy with it!

My wife is a real southern Thai from the very south, namely Yala. In this region, many people, including women, have curly hair, including my wife. There's nothing crazy about that. Muslim ladies in particular often have very curly, almost frizzy hair, although it is usually hidden under a hijab.

Walking around in Thailand is a torture!
So much beautiful long black shiny hair.
It's definitely part of the sexual attraction,
    as Gringo delicately points out.

I understand very well the Muslims (Muslim men)
who impose on their wives their hair under a burqa,
    hijab or other headscarves!
Do I agree with that, on the contrary…
after all, it is imposed on women and restricts their freedom.

I still remember a passage from a story by Sjon Hauser.
He describes how somewhere at a folk festival in Bangkok
girls of seventeen, eighteen sit over a large water barrel.
Passers-by can use balls to set a mechanism in motion,
that causes them to fall into the barrel.
They then climb out soaking wet and Sjon describes:
“They looked in their soaking wet, clinging tight to their youthful bodies
    dress definitely very sexy.”

And then he concludes very clearly with a well-considered and inspired conclusion
(and that also makes Thailand such a special country for me):
“The event also proved how emancipated Thai women are.
In other countries, the girls would be locked up in little rooms, veiled…”

    That's right, Son!

    In addition…
I would like to remind the readers of my contribution in Thailand blog of December 17, 2014.
The editors then posted my story, 'Black hairs', in Column section.

The first sentences read as follows:

You can read it in full under the following link:

It would be nice for me if you read it again. It is in line with Gringo's contribution.

    Thank you for your effort

The first sentences read as follows:

Aom's hair is fanned out on the white pillow. She has long, thick, dense, soft hair, and it is a black pool of darkness. It is the flight of a river in its bed.
I'm lying there with my nose and mouth and actually my whole face diving in and gasping for air. Maybe I'll forget to breathe and never surface again. But no, I smell the scent of her hair, her head, her sweat and her shampoo.

I'm also a "knoot" hater... it makes women a lot older, although in reality it doesn't of course. When someone twisted their hair in a bun like this, I always ask STRONGLY to untie it immediately. I just can't see it. I never liked a woman with short hair either.
