Hey Gringo…where are you?

Yes, good question actually, although….! Perhaps few readers have noticed that my last posting “Monday wash day” was posted already weeks ago on April 1st. In the month of April, some of my stories were repeated, but no new ones were added.

What's going on then, are you sick?
No, I am - as far as I know - healthy in body and limbs, feel fine, eat and drink everything, in short I am a strong pensioner.

Are you in a bad mood than to write?
No, my nature is always cheerful, open and optimistic, I don't know depression.

Are you having problems with your Thai relationship?
Not that either, I've been with her for almost 12 years and the relationship is only growing. We enjoy each other every day with the occasional bump of course.

Do the editors of Thailandblog sometimes bother you?
I have a great relationship with Khun Peter and the other blog writers. We have good contact with each other and if necessary we discuss a “problem”.

I could go on wondering what's going on, but I don't know the cause. Since the beginning in December 2010 I have written a total of 385 stories for thailandblog.nl. That usually went without saying, about something I had experienced, nice articles about anything and everything in Thailand, the topics were and are still there for the taking.

Suddenly, however, it didn't go by itself anymore, every time I started a new story my mind blocked. There was no more letter on the screen, well tomorrow then. But also the next morning the same song. Start bright and jaunty and after two lines, stop! I call it writer's block.

That's why I'm stopping for the time being, no real drama of course, because in the meantime other blog writers have joined. I take a step back, follow thailandblog of course, will sometimes post a comment, but the pressure imposed by myself to write a new story is gone.

It will pass, people around me say, well, I hope so and then there will also be stories from me on the best and largest weblog site in Thailand!

    Hi Gringo,

Don't worry, your contributions were and are fun to (re)read.
It will come back…as it has now…certainly don't fixate on it and look for causes.
    Enjoy every day …..

nb. Too bad there is no Cambodia blog…. small country where there is something to experience... and so different from Thailand.

    Gringo.
I know exactly what you mean, you want to but it's just not possible.
That is what designers and artists also experience until unexpected inspiration strikes again .
Before you know it you will have that again and then the readers will enjoy your stories again and again .

    Gringo,

Of course we will continue to repost your articles so that new readers can also enjoy your beautiful stories!

I have already thanked you personally. But I would like to emphasize again that Bert (Gringo) has contributed significantly to the success of Thailandblog. Almost all of those 385 articles were gems. Thanks again on behalf of the editors and all readers!

And Bert, Leo is a great beer, so put it cold for next time 😉

Can only agree with the above opinions. I enjoyed your stories Gringo.
Maybe in a while we can have a beer somewhere around Naklua road.
I enjoyed and learned from your bits. I could also take advantage of it from time to time.
    Well-known Dutch proverb of recent times;
“”It will be okay, honey.” “I don't think you can let it go.

Isn't that what they call writer's block? It will be all right, at least I hope so, always enjoyed your writings, thanks for that!

    Hi Gringo,

Too bad, you were more than worth reading.
Writer's blocks are not forever 🙂
Know if it really never goes again you have made your contribution over shoots.
My thanks for all the pleasant reading moments!

Gringo, if you suddenly have a lot of time left: on Saturday Scandinavian Vikings will travel to Pattaya again with shaking knees to take on the mighty FC Planet 😉

Gringo, this is a serious phenomenon. Only through absolute abstinence can you get over this.

I suggest that the editors impose a writing ban on you for at least six months. Then carefully start with some astute responses to innocent-looking reader questions. With your favorite beer, you will automatically notice whether something is bubbling up again.

I hope to be able to respond to you again in the future.

    Dear Bert,
After those 385 gems of articles, your battery may rightfully be empty for a while or longer. That is very understandable. That you stop or take a break is only understandable, respectable and necessary.
Your battery apparently got pretty low in April, just when you were in the Philippines, while we were celebrating Songkran here in Pattaya. I hope you thoroughly enjoyed any energy-consuming activity and it was worth it. Now I wish you that you get your battery recharged soon.
Can I make a suggestion to slowly regain your energy? Write an article, or series of articles, in which you simply explain the rules of the game of your favorite sport. Many Thailand blog readers really don't know what the difference is between snooker, pool billiards and related versions, such as "Nine balls".
I am sure that writing an article on this subject will not cost you energy, but will generate energy. Nice cigar and no lack of inspiration. I can't imagine a better ambassador for this sport than you! And the readers will finally read what the rules of the game really are. You happy, everyone happy. A win-win situation, or a knife that cuts both ways.
Thanks for all your contributions in the past, good luck with everything in your future.

Hi Albert, it's a pity you stop because it was always nice to read your stories.
    But all understanding for that.
    Think about yourself!!!!
We still keep in touch in a different way, right?
